Elite for Amiga - different manuals?

Can anybody confirm if the original release of Amiga Elite has a manual with 8-bit (BBC?/C64?) screenshots?

For clarification: I have several copies of this game, and I have one/two with 8-bit screenshots and one/two with Amiga ones. Othewise the manual appears to be the same.

AmiGer also seems to have a manual with 8-bit screenshots...

Anyone can confirm it?

Hm... Nobody ? I just revive this thread...

I wonder why there should be no differences between the two manuals !? E.g. The ship Wolf Mk II seems not to be present in the C64 game...
Anybody knows if there are some other differences ?

BTW: It seems that I didn't have the (C64) manual anymore...

I guess the old manual came with the first print of Elite, the new manual with v2.

fiath is talking about two different manuals from the Amiga version, one with C64 screenshots and one with Amiga screenshots. He's not talking about differences between the C64 manual and the Amiga manual...

Well, I just wondered because there are so many manuals in the net. But I didn't find an (AMIGA-specific) manual with the WOLF MK II included. Or does anybody know a link ?

BTW, I have found some nice screenshots from the Archimedes elite version. It seems that this is "the best" elite 1... anybody knows/has played it... ?
This would destroy worlds for me. I always thought the AMIGA version was the best...

I have not seen it myself, but I also heard the Archimedes version was either the best, or very very good.

I believe the Archimedes version of Virus is also quite fantastic.

I can't speak for Elite, but the Archimedes version of Virus is soooooo much better than the Amiga version.

It's called Zarch on the Archimedes, and I believe I still have it somewhere.

The controls just work so much better, it's so much 'nicer' to control the ship. I can't play virus anymore because it's nowhere near as much fun.

I found an interesting interview with David Braben. There's also something about Zarch/Virus in it.
Look at the system list... :eek

And now I know why elite has so many planets...
Can anybody unlock the (2^48 = 280,000,000,000,000) galaxies, please... ?

Yeah I remember reading that info a while back when I was trying to get them to allow the whdload version of elite to be downloadable on the AIAB site.

Very interesting. Glad to see one of his fave versions was the BBC version. I used to play that. And die. repeatedly.

2^48 is 'slightly' excessive.

Yeah but by the year 3100 AD (the year elite was set) all of the other gallaxes will have dissapeared thanks to Catastrophic Alien Power Surges (or CAPS for short)

Sorry, but I nearly killed myself in the process of making it through 150 levels of Lode Runner on the Apple II - 2^48 is a bit more of anything than I can even begin to comprehend.

Thanks, Antiriad.

I have still two questions:
1) Is the WOLF MK II (and maybe other innovations) mentioned in this manual (I suppose so)
2) Who will do a scan ? I know it's big. Is it coloured ? I don't know if the text is different to the c64 manual. Maybe a scan of the screenshots and ship data sheets would be enough. The rest could be found in the net !?

Thanks.

Well I think it should be mentioned at the end of the "Flight Training Manual", chapter "Observer's Guide To Ships In Service"...
The Wolf MK II is an AMIGA specific modification and should then be mentioned in the amiga elite manual, or ?

Then I come to the assumption that it exists an amiga manual with the only difference that there are amiga screenshots in it...
