my turn to said a HUGE thanks to Adrian for CD version, working great on CD32 TF330, little slowdown like said before but it's not annoying for the gameplay , nice colours, magical atmosphere.

Very well, I am really happy that things are going well, so that everyone can be incentivized for new jobs for our AMIGA.

PS: I also wanted to tell you that WIZ works transparently on AMIGA1200 with Vampire V1200.
Slowdowns only against bosses ...

@Everyone Cheers guys.

@Predseda If your real install (not emulated) looks like this below and it still does not work when you run 'Wiz' from CLI/Shell, then sadly it looks like the RNC dosio code used hates your drive (hardware). It works with many but not all HD's be they actual Hard Disk of CF Card. I do state this in the ReadMe that it may not work with all hard drive types. You will possibly want to wait for the future WHDLoad version, but I thought we already talked about that somewhere back up this thread I recall?

4. Installing to your hard drive.
-----------------------------------

To install the game to your hard drive,
simply make a directory with suitable
file copying software etc. Then copy
ALL the files and data from the game
disk(s) into this directory.

However, to enable the game to find all
the actual data when required, the
directory name or path MUST be one of
the following...

dh0:Wiz
dh0:Games/Wiz

dh1:Wiz
dh1:Games/Wiz

dh2:Wiz
dh2:Games/Wiz

Your hard drive's ID may be hd0: or th1:
etc. this is OK, but anything after this
must match one of the above paths.

The game always checks to see if it can
find data and files in any of the above
locations first, before finally attempting
to load from the floppy drive df0:

Once the entire contents of both disks
have been copied to one of the above
named directories on your hard drive,
the game may be started in future plays
by typing...

Wiz <RETURN>

The game should now load normally.

Should you experience loading problems
when running the game from your hard
drive, or you keep getting the insert
disk 2 prompt screen; then please check
through the above once more.

If the game still will not load correctly
from your hard drive, then it may be
possible your hard disk system is not
100% compatible with the actual game code.
If this is the case sorry, you will have
to load the game from floppy instead.

We DO NOT guarantee the game will load
correctly with all types of hard drives,
rather it is just supplied as an optional
extra.

I have to admit, I also tried setting up on hard drive via emulation just to see if it would work; and it doesn't.

I used these OS installs:
a) ClassicWB Lite 3.1.
b) Standard Workbench 3.1.
I tried putting into both "dh0:Wiz" and "dh0:Games/Wiz".

@DamienD For the record, RNC dosio code works with many real IDE drives (not SCSI) and real CF Cards but not emulated HD currently (if you recall my other post about cd0: CD32 problems I thought I had but didn't) I was actually half right. RNC dosio loader used to work in WinUAE with emulated HD, but many years on it seems to not like an emulated HD. Emulated Floppy df0: of course works with dosio as does CD32 cd0: I found but not hd'anything': when emulated no.

Ok, so it won't work via emulation installed to hard drive.

To be honest I'm not bothered; it was just a test on my part.

I play from .ADFs

Sorry, but this way to install Amiga game to HDD is no good. Why could the game not just use the normal installer?

Sadly not via HD emulation no. As I said, it used to work in WinUAE years ago but now it doesnae :/

It's actually pretty nice just to shove the ADF's in on turbo floppy mode so I'm not that bothered either. It is in fact how I wrote the game in Windows in the first place with all game files on floppy disk 2 loaded in as an ADF LOL

There is nothing wrong with emulation. RNC dos stuff only works with A600/A1200 (and perhaps A4000) IDE controller, drive must be FFS formatted. Probably has usual size limits.

-> useless for any "modern" Amiga configuration.

OK well that is cool then and must be why it no longer works for some emulated HD setups

It is a little odd how RNC dosio works fine emulated for CD32 cd0: but not HD tho. All a bit beyond me TBH.

RNC loader (at least some variants) supports two different setups: CD32 CD + CDFS (which is neither IDE nor SCSI) and A600/A1200 (A4000?) mainboard IDE + FFS (possibly only FFS\1?). They have nothing in common.

It uses RNC dosio to handle all disk functions and takes over the system on boot.
