512k trapdoor expansion - will this destroy my Amiga 500?

Hi everyone!

New here, with very limited hardware skillz and very, very limited experience of Amigas.

I recently bought an Amiga 500, which starts up nice and all, plays the one game I have on floppy (no WorkBench disks). It's a rev 5 board, not recapped but without any battery leaks.

Anyway, I bought an Individual Computers A512 expansion for the trapdoor. I got it and tried installing it today, but I cannot seem to get the pins from the Amiga all the way into the female headers on the expansion card. The card fits easily unto the pins about half the length of the pins, but after that, I cannot push it further in.

Seems relatively stable where it is, but I don't want to boot the system up before I know if this is completely erroneous and might wonk up my hardware. Does this setup (according to the picture above) seem ok, or should I do something to push it even further onto the pins?

If the connector is shorter than the pins, then this is what it will be. Don't worry too much as long as you have it aligned correctly on both rows of pins.
