Tip: Long filename support for zip disks...
...in both Workbench and Windows.
Thanks to Severin for pointing out FAT95. Got this functioning with a zip drive. If anyone wants the mountlist I've attached it. This is for a zip drive plonked on the Squirrel PCMCIA > SCSI device. You'll also need fat95 in your L: directory. Search for "FAT95" on Aminet for the installer. Tested copying long filenames to/from Windows and Workbench, and they are preserved in both directions. Excellent Edit: To add... It seems slower performance on both sides compared to each operating system's native filesystem unfortunately. Also remember to avoid illegal characters. "?" for example, is legal under Workbench, but not Windows. Last edited by Echo; 01 March 2003 at 21:48. |
