USB-Competition Pro doesn't work properly with FSUAE
Hey folks,
I just bought the new USB-Competition Pro by Speedlink. It works well with most games emulated by FS-UAE. But there are two games that don't work properly with it. Wings by Cinemaware is a great game, but during bombing missions all bombs are dropped within the first seconds, just as if the fire button is pushed. Autofire is deactivated, what's wrong? The second game is Streetrod, a game I really love. But the fire button doesn't work with the game, I don't know why. Maybe some of you can help me, thanks a lot and greetings from Germany. |

Hi, FS-UAE does not change joystick behavior depending on the loaded game... - either the Competition Pro should work with all games, or none.
Are you sure you have the problems only when using the Competition Pro? If you use cursor keys + right ctrl as joystick (instead of the Competition Pro, does the fire button work like you expect in both Street Rod and Wings? |

Hi, thanks for your quick answer.
Yes, the cursors work well with both games. I could play them without the Competition Pro, but it wouldn't be the same. The Competition works well with all other games I've tested. |

After you have played Wings and experienced the bombing issue, can you quit FS-UAE and post fs-uae.log.txt?

Yes, I'll send it as an attachment since it's quite large.

Okay, update: it seems as if it had nothing to do with the Competition. The bombs are dropped, even when mouse and joystick are deactivated...

Please try to use a default A500 model instead - without any custom options (I noticed from the log file you used an A500+ with kickstart 1.3). If that does not help, try to find another disk set. |

Competition Pro USB joystick not recognised
I am using FS-UAE Launcher and FS-UAE Arcade 2.8.3 on an Intel Mac mini running macOS High Sierra 10.13.2.
FS-UAE readily recognises and works with a cheap USB joypad as 'Generic USB Joystick'. However, my Speedlink Competition Pro USB digital joystick is not recognised at all. Is there any reason why the Competition Pro wouldn't be recognised or is it likely to be a fault in the joystick? |

The black & red Competition Pro had all sorts of issues for me on the Mac. The Gold anniversary edition fairs better but often won't be recognised. I think it's a dodgy USB chip inside - or however USB transmits the microswitches.
