I just received permission to use an onboard Joystick controller, it should work with (a certain) bluetooth Playstation controller and also various wireless controllers. Need to bench test it first

Cool. I've been using the one from Ozakano.

https://www.amibay.com/threads/bluet...oller.2439688/

It's very good, but the FW lacks CD32 joypad support.

the joystick adapter i will use is nice, has a few programmable options.

For the smally mouse, the most simplest solution (which i should have thought of before). is to simply make a 7 pin header so anyone can buy their own smally and if they want to connect it to the motherboard then there would be no problems with licensing so i will add a header so people can do this.

It is an option, use it or not.

This is not a final version, just the next step.

@Kipper2k what type of memory chips does your design use? And is it 2MB or more?

Hi, The Chipmem is a single 2MB chip and uses the following schematic, tweaked a bit so it could be implemented on the Motherboard.

https://github.com/LIV2/A500-2Meg-Chip-ram (Thanks Matt!).

The 8MB fastmem is derived from my old 8MB/IDE board and is also implemented on the motherboard. IDE is also implemented on the motherboard and due to location of where i had to place it i designed a custom 50 pin FFC header (lower left of the board )so that people could use either a 44pin IDE, 40 pin IDE or use CF or IDE adapters with it. The quadrom portion is from Mike Stirling and my design that will allow users to hotswap up to 4 x 512k images
using either 27c400, 27c800 or 27c160 chips (i tried a kick1.3 scsi ROM image and it will work if you have the right HDD image) for more compatibility. There are other features too, but more about that later. There is no release date for this, it is dependent on cash flow and my time.

here is the header board...

will prob get tweaked at some point

Youre right not to talk about release dates or far fetched features. ”When its done” should be applied here, no need yo create unnecessary pressure.

That being said, it already sounds epic ;-)
I think Ill reserve my all black A500 (A1200.net) case + keys for this one ;-)

Do they actually need my life savings, it might be enough for one meal...

ok, here is another little mod (All my designs)

top one is 2013, bottom is right now, This board will lay flat and will fit between the 2 big caps (final one fits). This will not interfere with peoples RGB2HDMI boards, i will release the Gerbers and pick n place files once done. This is primarily done for my upcoming SMD board, i think it will be good with original A500s, havent checked

All the components are on the top side

k, i have the IDE header done, need to attach/program a chip for it...

As you can see by the jumper wires there needs to be another version. So far i have found about 6 errors (all fixed)

Mornin all, IDE support is now working, My adapter that the CF adapter plugs into actually had 2 traces missing that i forgot, the mainboard was OK though.

here is picture ...

You can prob see there are a couple of wires on the chip, My fault, i had a couple of bent pins on the chip and pulled the pads trying to fix them. In the end had to remove the chip and replace with another and jumper 2 wires.

Onto the next bit to add

Once i finish i will try to find time to show the steps to build 1 of these. It is a lot easier to break it down into the different segments instead of trying to build the whole thing at once, i wont do a video but prob do a picture history thingy showing stages.

Here is more tweaks i made...

for those that like to always tweak (like me lol) i added the gotek Display you can mount to the motherboard itself, the 3 buttons, and also a header for an external box that can be mounted on top of the a500 (or wherever). it will use a 12 pin FFC header (1mm) and you can feed the cable through the case slots with no cutting etc required. The header has all needed pins for power/display/buttons and USB The Gotek uses the original 64pin ARM chip BTW seeing as i have quite a few chips and also seems to be the best.

I also dumped the 50 pin 0.5mm for IDE as it was too finicky and fragile. I counted the pins needed and replaced it with a 30pin 1mm FFC header and added an extra VCC/GND header if more juice needed.

It is of course possible to create an external box that will also add SD/CF etc so all of these headers would make for quite a nice little addon that would make all these options easy to get at and clean looking

There is a mini Vidiot open source project on GitHub (https://github.com/nobodyisinocent)

Personally I wonder why these can’t be directly added to the motherboard… even at the back.

Hi, Looks nice, but the issue would be to have all the components on the same side or we would have to do some soldering ourselves as most places only assemble 1 side

I could fit it on the motherboard itself but if RGB died it would add to the debugging time rather than simply swapping out the module. When my new one is laid on the side it is not high at all, it can be lower than the denise if you solder the module in without a header for easy removal. JLC actually have all the resistors and caps in stock in their "Basic" selection so it is dirt cheap for us to have them do the installation. Not sure but i think my final shaped version could actually be lower

JLC assembles both sides without issues.
