Nice Poem

I noticed this line
Quote:
Amiga's 14 year old technology
14 Years wow when you think of it it's mindblowing

Amiga managed such an awesome machine some 14 years ago and with all the modern technology in my opinion there still is NOTHING that can touch it

If I'm correct in my assumptions, it's now 17 years and 3 months since the A1000 was out on the shelves, or at least on the production line.

I despise it. The intellectual elite seems to look down on those who don't like poetry. It's like, you almost HAVE to like poetry to be taken seriously. Bunch of buffoons.

I like good poetry. I also like painfully bad poetry. Like this Ode to Socks.

At least the Amiga one just about adheres to the typical form of an ode (strophe, antistrophe, epode). And it is about the Amiga. Pretty wacky freestyle meter though.

I don't much like peeps who are snooty about other peeps either, Fred.

Ode To Socks...the subject matter just begs for quality prose, but that poem was drenched in a fetid, banal stench of ineptitude. I may have to compose my own ode to socks...

I am not referring to the Amiga ode. It was actually pretty nice. The guy has complemented a computer/OS he likes. I am speaking of poetry in general. Sorry to go a bit off topic. I was sort of seconding Twist's thoughts on it.

No problem, I find myself doing exactly the same thing. I do agree with what yourself and twist are talking about, I'm certainly _no_ litrature fanatic, I just thought it was a neat poem.. thats it. cheers.

Cute!

let me have a go =)

Superfrog:

Through the air, high I lept
Through the woods and trees
Avoiding those pesky owls
only to get stung by one of them bees

Armed with putty, wings and locozade
as my quest is now truly underway
I cannot faulter or allow my will to fade
As I promised a princess, I'd rescue her today

I might be green and somewhat small
but that will just not stop me
I'm carefull to jump at every fall
Damni it!! whats is it with the bloody bees!!

=)

Little Bo FOL has lost his memory
And doesn't know where to find it.
Searching up and down at AmigaKit offices,
FOL's getting angry and blames Matthew.
Little Bo FOL fell fast asleep
and dreamt of Amiga 1200.
But when he awoke, he found it a joke,
For all NOS A1200's were sold out
Then he took out a bottle of Nescafe Gold Blend
Determined to stay awake.
He found the memory, but it made his heart bleed,
For chipmem can go nomore than 2MB
It happened one day, as Bo FOL did stray
Into an Amiga 500+ with leaky barrell battery,
All hung on a tree to dry.
He heaved a sigh, and wiped his eye,
And over the hillocks went rambling,
And tried what he could,
As a Amigian should,
To rescue baby Amiga.
