Damn, did the message I posted here a few hours ago get edited?

Can someone please tell me a configuration for the first 'Dragon's Lair'? Thanks.

Let me guess, Dizzy! Not good gameplay, right? Well, you either like that type of game, or you hate it...

Cool Dragon's Lair III

Although I am not a big fan of the Dragon's Lair series, I voted Curse of Mordread. It features a battle between Dirk the Daring and Mozart's cat. Excellent to watch (not to play)...

manicx: On the CPC? I didn't know that game existed! How is it? Like the Commodore 64 game?...

Tim Janssen: I didn't get that far... yet! (I'm playing the PC version.)

Big grin Cheating

...Playing any Readysoft game always gives me the creeps. I often use cheats. For Dragon's Lair 3 I typed in 'TIMEZERO', grabbed some popcorn and watched the animation (and juggled with disks every 30 seconds).

By the way, here is a pic of the battle between Dirk and the cat:

Well, it is the same in 8bits that is "Playable"... I still remember a cheat on the cpc that allowed you to load the level you wanted to play...

No dude.

Your questions is here:

Please try to post stuff where it belongs. Your problem was aptly located but this poll had nothing to do with it so I splitted it.

Actually, the only Dragons Lair game I've played is Singes Castle on C64.

But Space Ace on the Amiga was cool. (I've also played it on the original arcade machine)

Akira: Oh, okay then. My bad.

Tim Janssen: Nice pic!
"TIMEZERO", huh? I wonder if that works for the PC game, too.

manicx: I'll try to play it, too.

I must say that if it wasn't for the awful camera angles and hence hard controlling I quite like Dragon's lair 3D.

On the Amiga I quite liked the first game. Maybe because that's the only one I made it past the 2nd sequence in?

I never played 3D. Is that like the first ones? I mean, they're all in 3D, they're cartoons (except for the NES, SNES, Amstrad and Commodore 64 games).

Speaking of which, manicx, I just played the 2 Amstrad games. I have no idea how to jump on the next block in the first game, but I like 'Escape from Singe's Castle' very much. The river scene is dope!

Well apart from the fully animated ones I've only played Dragon's lair 3D and Dragon's lair 1 on the C64. I guess you could say it's a bit similar. You've got full freedom of movement and that sort of things. Hidden treasure to find in each room.

They did the conversion from many of the sequences in the animated one quite well. Having to jump around the energy shooting through the floor by the knight, fighting off goons. Rooms falling apart and so on.

Still annoys me that I couldn't get the gold goblet early in the game. It's right there on a bookshelf but the floor collapses around it and I don't have time to get it.

Hey, thanks a lot for all the information!

I did some research, too. Go to <http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/xbox/game/32960.html>, click on the Xbox FAQ/walkthrough by Sundancer and search for "goblet"; maybe that can help you get it.

Which one? 'Dragon's Lair' (the one that starts sort of like 'Congo Bongo') or 'Dragon's Lair: Escape from Singe's Castle' (the one with the river)?
