Is Apollo1230 card fully pcmcia friendly..?
is it ?
Well, I read the later makes of that card are, but hows the "original" Apollo1230 card (mk 1) ?! I asked for this, because I just got one such a card with an Amiga 1200, and plan to add pcmcia ethernet card later... :-/ ![]() ![]() |

Well I think almost all '030 cards are compatible aren't they? Shouldn't be a problem but don't take my word for it

That's what I thought too.
Mainly 8Mbyte RAM cards and 68EC020 accelerators were PCMCIA unfriendly because they still use the 24-bit address space. Most (all?) 030 cards put their fast-ram in the 32-bit space and so dont need to overlap the PCMCIA slot. |

hmmm my research has not found a conclusive yes/no
all i can say is my mk3 works flawlessly... there were some reports that blizzys mk1 / 2 had issues with the pcmcia, iirc.. |

Just use showconfig and look at the ram part to see where your fast ram is:
RAM: Node type $A, Attributes $405 (FAST), at $10000000-$13FFFFFF (64.0 meg) Node type $A, Attributes $703 (CHIP), at $4000-$1FFFFF (~2.0 meg) If it is a 6 digit number ($200000) it occupies the PCMCIA space with more than 4MB. If it is a seven or eight digit number everything should be okay. |

There are reportedly lots of 030 cards which are not PCMCIA friendly.

Maybe I'll see later, for real, whether it's compatible or not.. Will see.. :-) I guess I need Amiga compatible pcmcia ethernet card next! :-) |

On the other side: There are no problems in packing, unpacking or copying files from/to a CF-Card with 8MB ram. |
