fuzzy sound on 1200

a bit worried the last few days as my 1200 started to have a fuzzy/scratch type sound coming out of both speakers The sound still works on both left & right speakers but the volume level has dropped a bit i.e have to increase volume level higher now

any ideas :

I know this might sound silly, but have you tried it on a different TV (Hifi if your using that for sound)? Or does everything else work fine on TV, i.e. TV channels, AV (Digibox).

As I say, might sound silly, but always better to check the obvious before ripping your Amiga apart.
