Sony MPF920-E, proper /READY signal possible?
I have modded a Sony MPF920-E floppy drive to work in my A500.
Changed to DS0, and rerouted pin 34 and pin 2 as per the standard way to get these PC drives working in a Amiga. The drive works perfect in WB, diskchange and so on working. But in games, i.e. the 2 disk game Pinball Dreams, it never detect disk 2 when i insert it. I understand that this happens because MPF920-E don't have a proper /READY signal for those games. Is it possible to make an proper /READY signal with some IC's or other components? |

Show picture(s) of your mods, and also we can see what type of MPF920 board it is. Depending on which one depends on how you should mod it for the /READY signal.

Thanks for your help, i moved the red wire to the point in your picture, but still no luck.
The /READY signal seems not to work, Pinnball Dreams disk 2 is not detected. |

That is surprising. Have you checked the floppy drive signals using Amiga Test Kit - does it see the RDY signal in the floppy drive signals test?

I checked your picture more closely now, and it seems that the left IC is different from what i have.
Maybe this is a reason why it will not work on my drive. |

I'm confident that the board designs are similar enough that it should work if you have connected to the right point.
Please show your mod again and have you checked the signals with Amiga Test Kit? |

I checked with Amiga Test Kit today, and the modified Sony drive reports the /READY signal in like 4 ms. My original Amiga drive says 400 ms, so i think that is a problem?
