Oh, it's no big deal but on level 92 when you get the "Bub" bonuses they overlap with black background:

It's like the tile used hasn't been cut out / made transparent around Bub.

All fruit has been cut out / made transparent around.

Improved example:

Cut out Bub:

Same screenshot above with cut out Bub used:

Maybe player 1 score should be on the left and player 2 score on the right is a good solution?

Hi,

I confirm that when the monsters are paralyzed, if you hit one you lose a life.

I agree, it is not what I would expect either but it is still a designers choice.

Tiny Bobble is not meant to be exactly Bubble Bobble.

Some complain Tiny Bobble is to easy. Yes, it is more easy than the arcade and I thank god for that

I think most players that are new to the game would agree.

A big problem with a lot of games is that they are to difficult. People get tired fast.
Tiny Bobble is balanced perfect that way. When you figure out how to do a level it is easy
and that is how it should be I think.

Hi,

We don't have all the details about the mechanisms integrated ( or not ) in Tiny Bobble. In this case, for beta testing I can't know if it is a technical issue or a choice. The reference for the comparison is then the arcade machine.

Yes, it is good to make "Pink" aware of things but in this case it is already reported.
What he consider to change or not is up to him. Bugs are for sure the most important one to get rid off.
I tried latest version yesterday. No bugs I could find but I could only make it to level 35

Tiny Bobble RC1 released

http://www.abyss-online.de/eab/TinyBobble_Beta_RC1.adf

Fixes
  • In levels with no room for potion items a single item needs to be spawned at potion position
  • Lifes display does not exclude current life, like the Arcade does
  • In potion bonus screen the two play score can overlap
This is RC1 (Release Candidate 1). This means if nothing breaking is found it will be the base for the final release (which is planned for this weekend).

Thanks for testing and Happy Playing!

pink^: I was hoping the enemy could escape their boxes when angry. When they are stuck it is so boring to kill them. Can take a long time.

I guess you mean they are trapped too long?
The escape time starts at 30 second for level 1 and goes linearly down to a minimum of 6 seconds in the last level. This is not(!) like in the arcade. The game is overally easier then the arcade, and that's intended. It's of course all subjective

Look at that score; I think it's my best yet:

Almost everything has a special rule in Bubble Bobble. The big cakes depend on the number of EXTEND bubbles you collected. For instance, to get the big melon cake you need to collect >=3 "E" letters.

I played three games and got to level 50, more or less, no freeze, no bugs, everything works great.
It plays like a marvel.

(RC1) on WinUAE (A500 default conf)

When I tried yesterday collecting at least 3 E (red) or others letters nothing happened but I did'nt try with the RC1 ( It will be for tomorrow ).

And thanks for your hard work on this port.

Oh, one thing I forgot to test in RC1 was that if you die on the boss fight the potion reappears.

Just loaded my save state and tested.

Indeed now the potion reappears

...but you also still have lightning bolt bubbles without doing anything after death.

Shouldn't this be cleared when you die so that you have to re-pickup the potion in order to have lightning bolt bubbles again?

it gets cleared if you lose a credit... but no big deal.

if "Player 1" dies lightening flask on the left appears (no matter which ones he picked up)

if "Player 2" dies lightening flask on the right appears (no matter which ones he picked up)

"Player 2" still doesn't cannot get killed by 100 level boss if he takes cover under "Player 1". https://www.twitch.tv/videos/717082511?t=00h09m20s

But I guess this is to balance the "player 2" unfair spawn kill on entering the level. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/717082511?t=00h04m48s
