Greetings to the community

Hi all,

My name's Andre and I write from Italy (a decaying country in southern Europe...).

I've been using an Amiga 500 a long time ago, and now I feel it's time to jump back onboard....

...which I can do in different ways: CD32, SAM,NATAMI...

I have some questions about the CD32 which I found unanswered in the board, and I'm opening a thread right now.

That's all for now, I renew my salutations to all the members of the board

Greetings, Andre, and welcome to EAB!

You've just taken the first and most important step towards revisiting the Amiga by joining our thriving community.

Don't make your choice about what to buy until you've had a good browse around the forums.

Enjoy your stay!

Hi Andre and welcome to EAB!

You'll find that there are even more ways to get back to the Amiga (beefed up A1200, anyone? ). Even with WinUAE you can have a first 'flashback' and maybe you stick to that Either way you'll find many helpful people here and enjoy your stay

Hi prowler, thanks for the prompt welcoming...

I love the UK so in a certain way it felt natural to register here. I regularly shop for games in England because I like my games in english...

I'm sure that soon I will be posting a photograph of my Amiga setup...

I have reasons to skip the full-fledged Amiga classic computer for now, but you never know...

hi all,

Andre

Hi to the CyberDruid and tero too...

I know the connaisseurs here would advise for a beefed 1200...I must say I share their taste, I have been a lurker for some time here, but I still can't figure the positions of the various members of the board on the various "alternatives".

Natami sounds too good to me, hope it won't take too long...

Natami is a great concept, in that it is M68k ("68070") based and actually being designed to run Classic Amiga OS, unlike other PPC-based projects like the late, lamented Amiga One and the current SAM.

Unfortunately, like all projects of this nature, it is suffering from lack of funding and making slow progress. For these reasons, it is being regarded with scepticism (and even derision) by many of the Amiga enthusiasts for whose benefit it is being developed.

Currently available is the Minimig, which will emulate the Amiga 500 in hardware.

Natami sounds interesting, i will decide when it's up.
Amiga is teaching not to wait for HW

You can have a look at the minimig too, but maybe you want to wait
till it's shipped with an arm controller

@Prowler
Nice timing...

There are of course different points of view on the 'alternatives'. I really depends on what you want to do with your 'Amiga'. If you are interested in 'classic' stuff there's surely a lot more to get from an A1200 then say a SAM. Just my 2 cents
