4gb Solid State Disk on Module (ide)
Maybe this might be good for someones Amiga. 4gb solid state drive. It is a tiny disk on module unit that plugs directly to a 40pin ide on motherboard.
I'll get a pic later. The actual drive bit is 2cmx4cm or there abouts. Bought for an ITX system but 4gb wasnt really enough for me. £15 posted, PayPal as gift ![]() |

No, the illustration above shows that it's actually 40-pin device with a power cable.
However, if it really is a 40-pin device, then it's not going to plug directly into the motherboard without an adapter, because the 40-pin connector won't clear the extra four pins on the header and will bend them out of the way. |

Isn't the 4000 a 40 pin IDE?

Guys, I didn't mean it would plug straight into an Amiga motherboard. I meant that it has to plug straight to a 40pin header.
Should be ok if you have an IDE buffer thingy. ![]() |

Hmm... That's not the way I like to do things. If it were me, I would rather remove the four surplus pins from the motherboard. (They could always be put back later, if required.)

There are 44 pin ones that are horizontal for use on a A600/1200 MB. I plan on getting one in 4MB:

Dudes, the 44pin header has a finer pitch than the 40pin header.. You can't just file the connector to get the 40pin connector to fit..?

Yup. Now sold.
Its got an XP install on it, I hope you dont mind formatting it, I don't have a spare IDE port to format before posting. You also need a spare 4 pin molex plug to power it. ![]() |
