Time to start looking at our vintage 286 workstation with its very noisy hard drive. Part 1 is taking it apart, looking over the hardware and trying to fix the grinding hard disk.

You may also notice the channel has taken a massive leap in subscribers recently for which I have to thank RetroSpector78. If you haven't seen his channel he covers everything old in the PC world.

This week I finish off the 286 workstation by fiting a network card, sound card and a fresh install of MS-DOS 6.22

Back to Commodore things with week and a refurb of the VIC-20 I picked up last month from eBay. Bought as spare or repairs untested for £55, will it work?

In other news my channel passed 1000 subscribers. I just want to thank everyone from EAB that has supported me. I had hoped to make just 500 this year (August is 2 years doing this) but to get to 1000 is just amazing. Honestly I'm lost for words.

I know its only a drop in the ocean on YouTube but its a milestone that I honestly was starting to wonder if I'd ever get to. On wards and upwards as they say. Onto the next 1000!

I haven't updated this in 2 weeks and to be honest I'll probably not be doing so in the future unless it's Commodore or Amiga related but for one last foray I've recently been looking at an Olivetti 286 motherboard. A somewhat rare beast it was more or less undocumented online.

Time for another look at the ARMSID. The firmware has been updated to version 2.11 which fixes the issue in Bubble Bobble that I discovered in the first video.

Some people wanted to hear how this chip handles samples so we take a listen to a few of those and some thought the sound from the ARMSID wasn't as clean as that from the original chips so we also have a play with the configuration program to see if we can't improve that.

Holy thread resurrection batman... Yes its been a while since I've been on here (slaps wrist) but I thought a quick update was in order. I've been doing some more Amiga stuff of late finding some renewed love for the old girl(s) so if its of any interest you can check out a few videos here.

As always feedback is welcome (of any sort) or just general discussion.

Great videos as usual! The 1200 restore was also just perfection, let it live on for some more decades Also very interesting to see you building the rgbtohdmi adapter! That is tiny but it seems like it is possible with the right equipment and patience.. Thx!
