Rgb to scart cable diy
I'm making my own rgb to scart cable following the schematic from the following site.
http://www.ianstedman.co.uk/Amiga/am...iga_scart.html Stupid question though. Is the schematic showing the pins on the amiga or on the cable? For example pin 1 on the schematic is top right but on the amiga is it not actually top left? As in looking at the rear of the machine. |

Pins are numbered on the face of most D connectors,
and for SCART, the shape of the plug makes it obvious. |

Yep, pin numbers are moulded into the face of D-sub connectors, as well as beside each solder point on the rear. You may need good light and magnification to see them. That diagram looks like pin 1 is looking into the face of the connector on the cable, so pin 1 would be the top left when looking into the back of the Amiga. This image should help you - all sizes of D-sub connector have the same numbering scheme, so pin 1 is always in the same place on female connectors (and always the opposite on male connectors).

Thanks gents. I can only handily get 25 pin D-subs so I will be cutting it down to suit and I wasn't sure if they would be labelled different than the 23 pin D-sub hence why I wanted to confirm against the pins on the back of the Amiga.

Well, for cutting down, if you chop the end off with pins 13 & 25, pin 1 will still be pin 1. Of course, you'll need to subtract 1 from the numbers on the bottom row, but the numbering on that row will be wrong regardless of which end you cut down.

what I did was buy a really cheap video adapter for the Amiga and un-solder the connector, was about 8 quid or something, then I also had the case to and was making a scart plug adaptor so it would take standard scart |
