I highly doubt that was one what with the size and price of the cartridges, i mean what would you dump them onto 200 floppy disks?!

What did you want to crack?
Seems to me you are confusing cracking with illegal distribution.

For what purpose? There weren't Neo Geo emulators before 1998/99. And surely no backup stations or flash carts.

That's 'training", not "cracking".

NeoGeo CD games were cracked to remove protection checks. Not what you're asking, but kinda related.

True, i used to help Fakk find CDZ protections on disc as they had two layers of protection.

That only happened in the ST scene when they stated things such as the ST being as good as the Amiga.

I'm almost sure there was a backup unit for the neogeo, can 't remember the name, but i say it running at papillions place some day. And yes there where back-ups of neogeo games in the scene....

see some about it here, it was released in 1991:

Jarre you are correct, after a quick search i found this - https://www.neostore.com/Multi-Game-...art-p/1489.htm

It uses an huge interface cartridge in which you place upto 2x 8MB ram carts into the side, back up the game and put into the disk copier to transfer to floppy disk, on another pic it says supports upto 50 games (obviously the smaller games upto 16MB/128Mbit) imagine the cost!

Worse still imagine wanting to play a different game, and disk swapping it all back onto the carts! And people moan now about having to wait 30 secs for a new game to load into ram on the newest flashcarts!

Edit: beat me to it on your edit Jarre!
