AUI Magazine disks
Just been looking at my amiga floppies and found theses AUI Magazine disks. Are they rare?
I can't image them as I have no working Amiga. |

One word: disk2fdi.
With that tool you won't need an Amiga to dump your Amiga disks. If you need the URL, let me know. ![]() It would be nice to take a look at these AUI disks. They're not ones I remember myself, and I have quite a small supply of AUI disks. |

Just to let you know...
The SECOND disk of each AUI coverdisk set is done using a method called 'Diskspare' which, like AFS or PFS uses an extra sector or two at the end of the disk.
This may present a problem, but I'm sure someone here can fill you in on it 'coz I'm a little busy ![]() |

It is possible to image Diskspare disks using RawRead - in fact, this is what I have already done with my AUI disks
![]() Anyway, I believe I have all the ones you mention Paul; do you want them uploading? They only work in recent versions of WinUAE btw; the ones with the recent floppy code fixes. |

No thanks, unless anyone else does. I just wondered if they were rare as I havn't seen any on the net. I am hoping to replace my Amiga soon and was looking at my disks. I had forgotten how many magazine cover disks I had. I am kicking myself for throwing all those mags out. I have several cover disks from Amiga Computing, Amiga Shopper, Amiga One, CU Amiga and Amiga Format. I also have a 10 disk set of MUG (Med User's Group) from SeaSoft full of loads of Mods. I have a 10 disk set of fonts as well. |

I think the reason they are quite rare is because of their content. Whilst they were great in their day as they were stuffed full of software, nowadays there is little point in downloading an ADF full of archives, many of which are way out of date. And of course, you get such poor compression because everything is already compressed.
