why cannot I boot hard drive directory or hard disk image
I just created a disk image with WinUAE, selected "bootable", inserted a startup sequence...
but still 3.1 bootup screen Same thing with the files in a directory. Selected bootable, and it doesn't boot. Any ideas? I never tried to boot a directory, but harddisk image, that usually works even if the disks I created were done a long time ago. I started from a config where no HDF or dir worked. I copied another one and it worked... Sorry, will delete (still a mystery but at least it works) Last edited by jotd; 30 October 2017 at 22:16. |

There are two places in WinUAE where you can disable all *uae* hardware:
On the lower part of the the ROM page you can select the board type. If it is set to "ROM disabled", you won't be able to boot from an UAE controller. On the misc page there is the option to "hide all UAE autoconfig boards". This has the same effect. |

"Hide" option should not disable any UAE feature, it changes autoconfig ids and/or removes board entries from expansion list after it has been initialized.
