[Solved] Speris Legacy(AGA) savedisk problem
Hi,
I'm stucked with this. Is there a solution concerning the Savedisk-Problem? I tried in WinUAE with normal and with custom disks. Using a custom disk ingame and trying to format it brings up the WinUAE-Debugger in background. The WinUAE hangs then and can only be finished by calling the Windows-TaskMan. I can't test it on a real A1200 system because I only have A500, A600HD and A2000 as real machines. Maybe one have a working adf-savedisk for this game and can publish it in the Zone? That would be great! ![]() Cheers, Rick Last edited by Rick Dangerous; 07 April 2013 at 12:34. |

Hey Denis, he wants the savedisk adf for running the game in A1200 emulation with WinUAE.

Ok
![]() speris legacy use a custom ADF format. Let's see if i can do something here ![]() EDIT : it uses indeed a custom ADF format. I guess that we could ask Toni to have a look to see why it's not working under winuae. EDIT2 : problem solved, the format/save function is not working correctly on anything higher than a 68020. Please find my custom extended ADF in the zone ![]() Last edited by dlfrsilver; 07 April 2013 at 01:39. |

As Denis has stated its a custom disk format, done that way to prevent save game editing/cheating which could cause the game to crash.
As for not working on anything higher than 68020, not likely as it was tested on a 68030 a4000 as well as a1200 before release as Binary Emotions had both machines during development. |

under winuae, when i try with 68030, i get an error message when using a extended ADF.
It says that the disk inserted is wrong. I tried with a 68020 config, and it worked straight ![]() |

Hi,
thanks for your answers so far. I'm using WinUAE 2.4.1. at the moment. Is this a beta-version? As far as I remember the beta-versions had some numbers like 0.84.3243.42456 or so. ![]() Since the year 2003 or so I am used to the WinUAE. Yes, I chose the right chip-settings in WinUAE: AGA. And I created a custom disk in MFM-format. But the game doesn't accept it. I did a research in this forum and google, but there I did not find the clues so far. Maybe you guys download the game and try yourself. I can't tell if it's an emulation problem or a physical problem. I don't have the coresponding hardware. Beside this I want to say a big "Thank You" to the Creators of this WinUAE. I'm an Amiga-User since 1987, this is now 26 years. I don't have the room or space to run all the original Amigas I own. Cheers, Rick |

Hi,
I downloaded latest WinUAE 2.5.1 and now it works! ![]() In the DOCS/readme.txt there's an entry 2.4.x bugs fixed: ... - Extended ADF write support was accidentally disabled. Maybe that's the reason why it didn't work? Thanks for your help. Cheers, Rick |

Hello again,
after gaming around for a couple of hours I finished it today. It's worth a try if you like Zelda-type games. Speris offers nice graphics and music and the plot is long enough for a good 3-hours play. Often enough I got stuck and consulted the german walkthrough, because the solution of certain problems is too weird. The save-function is very important, because there are several bug-spots in a couple of maps resulting in 'guru-meditation'. It took me at least ca. 15 resets of the system. Cheers, Rick |
