What shall this program do? Add a palette to the icon file? Which palette?

Oops sorry... Thanks for your quick reply Thomas. Brilliant Web page you have btw., have been there quite a few times.
I thought WB 3.9 icon format is newicons but it is glowicons. So i need a tool to convert icons to glowicon format. My goal ist to make the def_xyz default icons in envarc:sys which i copied from MagicWB transparent with WB 3.9 if a file does not have an .info file (WB: Show all files). |

Could you make an example? Before/after hardcopies, the latter edited with PPaint or something.
I am not sure what you mean. AFAIK MagicWB icons are squared, so there is no area around them which could be made transparent. You can use the "Set MagicWB colors" option in Prefs/Workbench to make them look right. |

Here you go...
left: MagicWB deficon, this is opaque, right: Glowicon deficon, it is ghosted. The two files you see are all deficons because they don't have their own.info files. That's why envarc:sys/dev_xyz.info ist displayed. I use PeterK's icon library by the way. So I want to convert my MagicWB deficons to Glowicons so that they will displayed ghosted, too. |

Load it into IconEdit. Select "Old image" and choose "Edit -> Copy" from the menu. Then select "New image" and choose "Edit -> Paste". Do the same for the selected image, then save the file.
