Stone Oakvalley's Amiga Music Collection
I was surprised that I couldn't find mention of this anywhere so here goes...
Stone Oakvalley's Amiga Music Collection (or SOAMC= for short) is a project to "preserve Amiga music in todays most common music format, namely the MP3". It is scheduled to go live in October 2008 with 115338 MP3s of classic Amiga tunes and in the meantime they've decided to give everyone a little taste of the what they're up to by making available the first 33036 MP3s. Definitely worth checking out! P.S. Cute URL. |

It's a bit hard to compare a 224 kbps/44 khz recording with a 24 kbps/16 khz recording, especially if it's MP3. I would say it's due to the method of converting and the recording technique used. Have you recorded it with deliplayer or what method did you use.
Btw : Even if the Amiga was only capable of playing 8 khz samples I would at least use 22 khz for recording |

Stone Oakvalley's Amiga Music Collection Download Down
Yep I was truly disappointed to find that the site is having a bandwidth problem
"Ouch, it seems that our SOAMC= server or bandwidth connection is causing problems for you now is it? Our network guru or the self-awareness of our server is probably already on the case...Sorry, we have to say that the Amiga's guru went on a trip to India. Try again later." Just when I needed the damn thing, I believe this is called 'SODS LAW' Hope they are not down for too long. |
