Pleasant surprise: Arabian Nights
Never played this one before, always looked ultra-generic to me. Then, to some degree, I wasn't even completely off. Yet, I found the level design enjoyable, the challenge right… save for the underwater level where I almost gave up

I know what you mean, this game is definitely more than meets the eye at first. The quests make it more interesting than your average platformer, and the difficulty level is just right.

It was one of my fav games when I was a kid.
Somehow, it just kept crashing on my A600 when it tried to load the magic carpet level - it worked fine on my cousin's expanded A500 though. I suppose my old A600 was broken or something. Ended up completing it only ten years later or so on WinUAE. A very nice game, a must play for platforming games fans. |

One of my favorites platformer on the Amiga.
That oriental music is awesome, the graphics are very cute, the gameplay is fantastic, level design is great, quests are fun.. etc... Not sure what you mean by " looked ultra-generic", because for me personally, that was some arcade quality game. Unfortunately, never managed to finish it, it was too hard for me. I think I got to the boat level, or level after that. |

I was just prejudiced based on few screenshots. Quests, level layout etc., you really cannot see on those. Graphics looked nice. But not spectacular enough to make me want to try it based on that alone. Long story short: I had no good reason

It’s a good game but it gets very difficult later on.

I still do not understood how this game counts % of level completed. Did anybody manage to get 100% for first level?

This is one of those games which will detect memory manipulation (via an action reply) and pop up messages from the devs.
Plus it's a great game too, it didn't get ported to anything else, did it? |
