AmigaOS 3.2 Appreciation Thread

What are your favorite things about 3.2 so far? I am still exploring, but I'm finding little things here and there that just make things better. I love all the thought that went into this release!

Here are a few things I've found so far that I appreciate:
- Get info has a size. If you click it, it switches from a simple read out of "XX GB (xx blocks)" to a readout of bytes, folders, and files. It actually expands the size of the about window to make this readable (nice touch!). The great thing is, if you were looking for some other piece of info, you didn't waste any time while it counted, but if you want that info, it's right there. )
- Amiga-Y. Auto-arrange and snapshot icons. YEA!!!!!! Finally.
- Tons of menu shortcuts.
- Ability to force menu bar gadgets to 1:1 if you want. I add +4 to window menu bar size, also helps make the text there more readable (I think maybe depending on the font you get your top pixel row of font right at the top of the window in 3.1.x.)

Have they included PCMCIA CF support natively or do you still need drivers?

Yep, I'm liking the return of some nice 3.9 features, like RAWBInfo (that's what gives you the new info requester including size of drawers), AsyncWB and DefIcons. The Autoarrange and Snapshot is nice too, though I had an almost identical ARexx script doing the very same thing in 3.9, as well as similar snap to grid and other functions. 1:1 gadgets was a 3.9 feature too, but it's more flexible now.

I like the edge resistance that windows have before they move beyond the screen borders, the new text editor is nice, the IPrefs changes are most welcome and the early startup options are excellent.

I already received my AmigaOS 3.2 CD and I’ve stored it in a safe place, next to the Ark.

I'm loving the edge-of-the-window resize and the new tabbed text editor.

Edit: also forgot about Amiga-Y, that's da bomb.

I like the ability to add new things to the WB menu, and to control the memory messages etc shown up there.

Enjoying the ability to have drawers listed at the top of a text listed window.

Oh, and of course - mounting ADF images!

Still finding things...

A few of my favorite features (too many to list) are:

* The Failsafe boot option from the boot menu--very helpful!
* Notably more responsive than even 3.1.4 was.
* Massive bug fixes throughout the OS.

Very nice, practical update!

Just for fun, try this: Make a COPY of HDToolBox; rename it CFToolBox; set scsi_device_name to , oh, my A1200 is down right now, carddisk.device is it? It now finds the PCMCIA CF cards that HDToolBox can't.
