Welcome to a new season and a new moderator (again) for the competition. We begin with a themed round, as we have x3 themed rounds packed into this season, plus 3 special rounds and 3 doubles. The 10th is the mystery round. The Super League began January 2008, so I assume that makes this season 15?

Yes Shoot E'm Ups covers a wide area - over 800 games in fact - so you shouldn't have too little to choose from.

This competition is for you, so I want you to tell all you're friends about the League.

I would like to vote for Xenon 2 with autofire allowed. Will this autofire exception be allowed?

If Xenon 2 gets voted in, I'd fully support autofire being allowed.

After some discussion, the mods decided to only allow the classic definition of Shoot 'Em Up, so that means a new link has been provided which lists the SEUs on HOL. This narrows down the list of eligible games, but hopefully there is still enough to vote.

Harry & capehorn - Yes. John mentions we agreed to allow auto fire for Xenon 2 some years ago during voting, so that's what we will do. The in-game auto is slow and actually makes the game worse to play. Many controllers have auto fire so I'd like to keep Biscuits relaxed approach to using it where possible.

While we are discussing rules, can I just get this one clarified?

Quote:
No use of emulator save states (excluding practising parts of a game).
I can read this one in two different ways. Does it mean that savestate practising of levels is still not allowed?

It is allowed:

Players can practice however they like.
So while save states are of course absolutely forbidden for your legit score runs
you are allowed to use them for practice (Biscuit allowed this when he took over two years ago and the rule will be kept).

No use of passwords to train or skip levels (see below)

Note - You can use trainers to train, and passwords etc, if you are not intending to post an official score. You can't submit your training scores, as these don't count.
capehorn - This year I tried to make it a bit clearer by changing the line from "including" practising, now the top line says "excluding" practising.

Generally, when going for a high score run, nothing special is allowed. But we agreed that this does not apply to practice runs and training.

Thanks for clarifying, I guess I should have read a couple of lines more before posting.

You are supposed to pick one forum for the season and post your scores and votes there, although you can chat on both. That doesn't matter quite so much nowadays as the EAB v Lemon element of the competition has been stopped, but your votes can only be counted once!

You really shoot'em up in Cannon Fodder, but that doesn't make it a shoot'em up.
I'll count your votes 2-5 as 1-4.
Or you can change your CF2-vote.

I assumed it was Ok as cannon fodder had been indicated as not being available due to being played in last 44 rounds in first post.

Happy for you to just take 2 -5 as my votes

^Ah okay. This is a themed round - only shoot'em ups can be voted for.

Okay, your other votes are counted.
