CD created by Aardvark doesn't seem to be supported, if you create an ISO with Nero Burning (NRG) everything will work properly.
Too late, I just installed AsimCDFS

Last night i discovered it by chance but I had to do the tests, AsimCDFS and my favorite because of the choice of CD Extensions, CD MacOS, "HFS", Linux CD "Rock Ridge", Kodak Photo CD and more.

CD playback only seems to work on first 2 levels, after that the playback keeps going until the last track. If you reload a post level 2 save game, there will be no music.

So the CD is mostly waste of space, as it is.

Hmmm. On the .HDF I set up, there was a save game already there for level 8; assuming it was in the installation files:

Just tried this and track 7 was playing (as per "cd.ini"):

Code:
	music/abuse08.hmi = 7

Ok, I tested all 21 levels, and only levels 00, 01, 08, 09, 11, and 15 have music.

There appears to be similar issue on DOS version according to Eino's PC Longplay video description: [ Show youtube player ]

"MUSIC: Midi music doesn't play properly on DOSBox. Only intro music and the first 2 levels play music correctly, after this the previously loaded midi-track will continue to play indefinitely. For example if you continue to next level the track from last level will continue to play and if you load a game from the menu screen intro music will continue to play."

Anyone else have luck installing this game? I tried following the guide and the best I could get on my real Amiga was the game the size of a postage stamp sized display in the top right hand corner and then it crashes I think or I just don't know what to do after that. I'm not using any RTG options as apparently this is ok for AGA and ECS according to Lemon Amiga.

The guide it pretty rubbish as well as it doesn't really say where certain folders should go. I assume i've done something right though as it did seem to load eventually and I could see what looked like start of a level. I got the intro and all that too.

Anyone have any ideas why I can't play this game? I get as far as being able to load the first level but this stupid window appears with messages I have no clue about. Nothing seems to allow me to continue.

You seem not to use version 2.0 of the game...
Try to google "abuse 2.0 download" and take the link to archive.org

Any idea?
Always get an "ixemul.library - free: start of block corrupt!" warning after finishing the first level. Then the game quits.
  • I downloaded the data files from here http://abuse.zoy.org/wiki/download (abuse-data-2.0)
  • I am using ixemul-040s 47.3 on my TerribleFire with 68LC060 (tried with 48.0 too)
  • I am using AHI 4.18
  • I am playing on AGA / 320x200 NTSC - also tried with RTGmaster v42
  • Gamefiles of the port are Abuse 1.4

Any idea?

another thread title where you could think that people are abusing the ports of the amiga... sounds weird.

I assume you are using the 030 version, since the 040 version is fpu only, you could try using an older version:

I already upgrade from 1.3 to 1.4 because it had the same error.
Haven't tried 1.2 so far.
