Perhaps the thread title should be updated now to say "Turbo Sprint Out Now" or something similar so it gains more peoples attention.

@str0m well in the meantime I realized that the game isn't free. I just bought it and there's a CD32 iso image in the package already => just buy it

Thanks very much, and yeah the sound is excellent with thanks to DJ Metune.
I gave him a pretty hard time on the memory requirements too.

I tested it and it works fine. The graphics and the sound are very impressive. I love those FM sounding tracks.

Graphical bug: the bob of the Tornado has a tendency to partially remain on screen in the track (not a problem to play)

Besides that, I find the game much harder than the original. The car controls are very hard to master. Specially when you hit a wall, the car rotates in bizarre directions and before you're realize you're running backwards the drones have done another lap. Sorry to say it doesn't play like the original at all and it appears pretty unfair

The original was becoming unfair because it was after your money so after a while the drones were so fast that you couldn't cope but the controls were perfect. Here it's a different problem: between the oil slick and the tornado + bizarre bounce on walls it's super hard to make perfect laps without hitting something several times. I suppose that without original source code it's very difficult to make that right (I've coded 2 remakes myself including Supercars 2 which is also a topdown racing game and I can totally understand that)

Got to test the original again on MAME. Got to play that on my real amiga too.

But maybe it's just me, maybe it's the lack of analogue controls. Anyway great addition to amiga library. Buy it.

I appreciate the feed back.

What I would say on the difficulty and car handling is that I found that if I played the Super Sprint arcade game for any length of time using a joypad I would then find controlling the car in Turbo Sprint very difficult too, the cars simply do not handle the same.. but in the end I was happy about that.

During testing I watched people be absolutely terrible at the game when they had not played it before, if they then give it a chance for about 30 minutes they then start to zoom around the tracks.

On the car collisions I did try to get this right as best as I could, but as you say it's quite a delicate thing to achieve... again though I was happy and content with the result.

Thanks for buying the game though, please try and give it a bit of time to grow on you and I'm sure you'll appreciate it a bit more. Lastly, and if you can, play the game on real hardware... it really does make a huge difference.

Graeme

I felt a bit guilty not to pre-test when I had a chance, and I know that you put some great effort for the bounce mechanism (one of the hardest challenge to make right)

I never play on emulators, so yes I'll test on real hardware. Anyway I still like it and I'll play it again for a casual game or two because even if you get your ass kicked the game continues so no biggie if you're not first.

Had a friend over and we played a bit to got into some problems.
In 2-player the 2nd control holding action button the car would often not turn?
Some times putting the car in a direction it slightly change when it should not?

Beta-testers. Did you try 2-player?
