KCS Power PC & 520 Accelerator
KCS Power PC & 520 Accelerator
Has anyone used this Combination of hardware? I have the KCS board working ok (I must disable the 68020 Processor to do this), with floppy disks, but can't find a way of creating a Hard Drive / Partition. Reading other posts, I’m using either a 256MB CF drive, or a 128MB IDE2SD Adpartor, with a 40 MB Fat partition (called KCS) as the first partition. In the HDsetup, I’ve tried A600 / A4000 and Other (ide/Scsi) Configuration, but booting to Dos (6.2), Via Floppy there is no Hard Drive found (FDisk). It depends on the HD controller used and the KCS software version....not all HD controllers are supported....

The latest (usable for the most of users) version of the KCS Software is version 4.51.....there is also a version 5 but it requires the KCS's external double floppy....
There is a very good thread on the German A1K forum regarding the KCS....written by BlindGerMan... Which software version are you using? |

I had to get the 4.51 in order to have the BSC IDE Octagon 508 recognised..check if you can see it in the list of the HD controllers.....if it is listed, you have the 4.51....
I think that the only way to use a HD with the KCS is to have a supported controller.... |
