Force a WB program onto a new screen?

I am running on an RTG screen (winuae) with a "modern resolution" but would like to run an old program in that environment that is hard coded for a 320x200 workbench screen with topaz 8 all over. The window contents are illegible.

Is there a utility that could force this program to run on it's own new screen with a user settable screen mode instead of workbench?

I have looked at mode promotion utilities but they assume the program is already launching on it's own screen, not workbench.

Thanks.

M2Debug. Does that help? <grin>

I am standing up an M2Sprint Modula-2 IDE but the debugger is the only thing I can't modernize.

Not sure if we talk about the same. Knowing nothing about Modula 2, I naively searched Google, found this site: https://m2amiga.claudio.ch/ and downloaded the binaries.

When I run M2Debug, I get a perfect RTG screen using the system font from Prefs/Font, not Topaz 8.

He uses M2Sprint. That's a different compiler package.

@apsteinmetz

Since you are using WinUAE a good solution would be to use two monitors, one of which is PAL.

This way when you start a PAL program it will automatically move to the PAL screen.

I found something called M2Sprint Modula 2 1.13 on the EAB file server.

This version of M2Debug opens its own screen, too. So I really don't see the issue.

I started to write a window promotion program. But without being able to reproduce the issue it is difficult to decide which kind of windows should be promoted.

I'm not sure if it helps, but it won't hurt trying this: http://aminet.net/package/util/cli/dprun
