Help needed adding CD to A1200

Hi All ..been a while since I posted but recently wanted to upgrade my A1200by adding a CD drive.
Sadly having no luck ...but then I am a novice so looking for some help from anyone who has already gone down this route.
I'm being honest..I am clueless.

I have my A1200 fitted with KS 46.143 (3.1.4)
I have a bare bones basic Workbench 45.194 installed to CF card.
The angled PCB I aquired is a 4XEIDE (ELBOX)
This is fitted and the CF/Workbench boots just fine.
Sadly I didn't get any documentation or software with the 4X adapter...and have a standard 5.25" CD connected to the secondary IDE ...but of course isn't recognised at boot..
I downloaded an ADF image and wrote it to disk...from http://elbox.com/downloads_4xeide.html
but it wont install anything.
'unable to open your tool C: installer'
Not very helpful info to a novice like me.
Have I even got the right floppy image ?
Is it possibly a compatibility issue ?
Perhaps it doesnt like my accellerator but I doubt this.
Perhaps it is the version of workbench I'm using....or KS 3.1.4 ?
I've been trying all day but I guess I'm just not smart enough...or am missing something vital.
Please ..can anyone help here...and in a language even I can understand.
cheers.
fingers crossed.

Do a single click on the installation icon and select icon -> information from the menu. The default tool probably is c:installer. Remove c: so that the input field only contains installer. Press Enter and click on save. Then try double click again.

If it still fails to find Installer, insert the Install3.1.4 floppy, open it, select Window -> Show -> All Files from the menu, find the program Installer and drag it into the Utilities drawer on your 3.1.4 boot partition.

Many thanx Thomas
followed your instructions after copying the files needed from DF:0 to tools...which worked
ie removing the C:

What I then had problems with is that the CD drive was set as slave..which my system did not like..
Once set as master discs where recognised.
again ..many thanx

...So..I now have a CD drive attached...and can transfer files easily.
Plus it runds mod files direct from a CD.
Now what ?
I suppose the next question is ...can it make toast ?
Seriously though..
Can it run CD32 games directly from CD ?
From what I understand..which is not a lot.
Even though a CD32 and an A1200 are similar..they are not the same in a few respects...specifically the lack of an Akiko chip...which I guess is needed to fully emulate a CD32.
please feel free to educate me as I am totally ignorant regarding CDs and Amigas.
cheers..

The most compatible way to boot CD32 CD's on A1200 is IDEfix97's CD32 emulator https://aminet.net/package/driver/media/IDEfix97

No it doesn't, but installing and registering it might be easier than setting it up the CD32 emu manually. Serial number can be found here https://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=74384

if you do install it, delete C:IDEfix from startup-sequence afterwards
