All Games Freezes, Please Help Me!

Hello, I'm experiencing problems with WHDLOAD games: they freezes after few minutes or black screen at startup.
I tried several games (I got 2000 games with installers) but the result is the same ever.
I think that's whdload.prefs configuration error, I'm running A4000 with Cyberstorm 68060 (please take a look to my signature for my machine complete specs) and tried some changes in that file (MMU, NOCACHE) but the trouble persist.

Can you help me, pleeeassseee?

Send a message via ICQ to Predseda
Which version of whdload do you use? Some games work with older whdloads better, I have my collection assigned to various revisions.

You have a network card, do you have any TCP/IP stack running (Miami or Genesis f.e.), if so, turn it off before starting a WHDLoad game.

Absolutely NOT, I bought a genuine key directly from whdload.de

I'm trying to install an older version of whdload but cannot because system recognize the older version. Maybe needs to unistall latest version before install older but I don't know how to do it. How to uninstall whdload?

I assume you started with the default one and edited it afterwards? How many games have you tried yet?

Well, started from default file... are there specific settings for the 68060 CPU? I don't know...

I tested about 100 games, all works but freezes after few minutes, the audio still continue but the screen freeze, I need to click F10 or PrtSc to exit

Couple of things you may want to try.

Rename your whdload.prefs file so whdload ignores it completely. That rules out an error with the file.

Rename your whdload.key file so that whdload ignores it completely. That rules out the possibility that your key has become corrupted.

You could also try to remove the 'PRELOAD' tooltype for a game and check if that changes anything. Sounds a bit like something 'over/underruns' (after few minutes) here. You could try all the 'NO...' from the FAQ (http://www.whdload.de/docs/en/opt.html#NoAutoVec)

I changed whdload version, now using the 16.5 instead 16.9

I'm trying PINBALL FANTASIES:

With original whdload.prefs and my whdload.key the game starts but freeze after 3-4 minutes while playing

renaming both files the game starts title but music continue and game doesnt start, a black screen appears.

But I not understand how to add and remove commands in the whdload.prefs

Example:

;MMU

the MMU is activated or not?

Or I need to remove ; to activate the option?

You have an 060, there is no need to use the MMU option.

"On 68040/060 this option has no effect because the MMU will be used by default"

Have a look (search) here how to edit tooltypes and for the options, just put them in the whdload.prefs file (NOMMU for example) without the ';' at the start.

Try disabling some of your other hardware which isn't needed, at least then you might find something to work from.

Problems like this are nearly always solved with eliminating the possibilities.

Just give up.

Srsly, have you tried any other games that are not WHDLoad? It sounds like a hardware problem to me.
