no no. the mouse is very fluid always. Tested on WinUAE with cycle exact, 68000@7 Mhz, Workbench 1.3 and kickstart 1.3, 1,5 MB of memory.

I will do a video with FOTAQ on WinUAE in a minute.
kool , this will be interesting

I've played FOTAQ (WinUAE/A500) and can confirm it has a very high lag (like on a rubber band). If that's what you call jerky we're in the same boat. But i'm not sure if this was normal back in the days. This could also be a side-effect of using a high dpi mouse. When you move slowly its not that noticeable and annoying.

I cannot create videos atm though as i don't get recording working on Linux/Wine. But it probably wouldn't help here anyway.

In the game "MAG !" ?
I only tried the ECS version, with alot of different configs. Aways the same result.
As soon as the Music starts the mouse movement gets jerky. (same on real hardware)
If i go into options and turn off the music, the mouse movement gets fluid again.

Flight of the Amazon Queen; jerky mouse movement,
Caribbean Disaster - also pretty jerky, especially when the computer is "thinking".
Star Trek 25 anniversary AGA - Holy cow !!!! :shock

Lemmings on the other hand is very fluid, always

I have this rubber band jerky laggy mouse movement when i use Amazon Queen WHDLoad (only for testing)

If i run it "normaly" from WB the mouse movent is not laggy, but jerky.

The DPi of my mouse is for sure a little bit higher than the OG Tankmouse but still, its not really that much better with my AmigaTec Ball Mouse.

Anyway; I am looking foward to your Amazon Queen Mouse movement analyzing Video

Thank you, this will be interesting

This is how it looks on WinUAE. I wouldn't consider this 'jerky'.

I've completed the game (WHDLoad) 1-2 years ago on my A1200. The mouse movement was pretty smooth.

HA This was on SPEED !!!!

and it was in NTSC,not in PAL ; and how much CPU did you throw at it ?

Did you use WHDload ?

I tied so many different setups in WInUAE and the result is always a jerky Mouse Movement in Amazon Queen, like on my real A600.
(only "fastest possible" in WinUAE´s cpu settings fixes FOTAQ jerky mouse movement)

strange stuff

There is no noticeable difference between ntsc and pal. I've tested both. I had to pick 60Hz as i had to screen capture because i couldn't get the WinUAE recording function to work in Linux. The system is default A500/Kickstart1.3. FOTAQ disk version.

Strange, i dont get it why in emulation and on real hardware Amazon Queen movement is so jerky.
Yet, so smooth for you.

It isn't jerky. Neither in emulation or real hardware. Get a proper mouse as i suggested earlier.

It happends on my Amiga 600 with 2 different mice.

Also on my WinUAE with yet another mouse - exactly like on my real Amiga.

Lemmings and almost every other game is super smooth.
Very odd. I will do even more testing.

You could also create a keyboard mouse in WinUAE by mapping keys to 'MouseUP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT'. Not sure if that's helpful.

Sidenotes:
The mouse lag (i mentioned before) in FOTAQ is caused by Kickstart v1.3. Any version above doesn't suffer from that.

To fix Linux/WinUAE/AVIRecording, use winetricks/avifil32.dll. This affects the 32Bit WinUAE version only though. For 64Bit i had to additionally copy system32/avifil32.dll and syswow64/avifil32.dll from a Win10/64Bit system. Tested with wine-7.0-rc3/Arch WinUAE/64Bit/Lagarith.

So, i am back

Now i have discovered that my A600 is also jerky on games like Loom and Last Crusade. (tried 2 different mice)

I got rid of everything on the mainboard, changed even the kickstart and tried it again.

For whatever reason i have now a jerky mousepointer movement in games.

The really strange thing is when the floppy drive is loading the mouse movement is smooth,
but as soon as the files are loaded into RAM the movement gets jerky again.

I think there is something wrong with my Amiga.
Even, if i use Virus Z, as soon as its open, the mouse movent gets jerky every few seconds. What is going on here ?

Any ideas guys ?

https://eab.abime.net/zone/Loom-Board.zip

I know its not so good to see in this video, but its definitely not as smooth as normal.

What is going on with my beloved Amiga ?

Did any of you have any experience with this ?

What is the exact model/type of your two Amiga mice? Are they the same model/type/age?

Maybe your mice get underpowered either by worn-out power-supply or drained internal capacitors.

Its possible to connect a PC serial mouse to the Amiga serial port (via DB25<>DB9 adapter). But it needs special drivers and only works in the Workbench.

Edit:
I'm not sure about connecting a real Amiga mouse to WinUAE though.

The 2 mice i have for the amiga 600 are
one original Amiga Technologies Ball Mouse and
a converted Optical PC Mouse. Results are the same.

Tried my other Maxwell power supply. Still the same.
I took everything from the board; Chip-Mem Expansion, Furia, CF Card. Even changed the Kickstart.
Also tried a different floppy drive.

Still the same.

On WinUAE i use a native PC Bluetooth Mouse and the thing with Amazon Queen is seemingly a coincidence, because the same happends in my WinUAE and on real Hardware,

But the thing with Loom, Last Crusade and Virus Z, ect .. , does only happen on my real Amiga.

This is new and never happend before on this machiene, so i am pretty sure something did go wrong.
Some tiny little thing inside there; who knows, certainly not me; i am just a stilly Smurf in that regard

I did test what i could. Now, i need your ideas

i see your video you put in the zone and mouse is ok with the Amazon Queen. It is less precise when you move very fast, but not jerky.

Its hard to see in those videos but there is something wrong with my amiga, besides the strange Mouse pointer in Amazon Queen.

If i turn on VBlank in Hippoplayer the Mouse movement gets jerky.

Something is wrong with the VBlank or Paula interrupts.
