Worst Amiga model ever
Snatched this poll from over at Amibay, thought it was a fun initiative by mjnurney.
So which is your least favourite Amiga model, and why? Like I said over there I have trouble choosing between A500+ and A600, but atleast the 500+ has a full set of keys so the 600 it is for me. |

Amiga CDTV. Lovely looking but no HD controller on stock machine puts it bottom of the ladder.

I'm gonna go with the A1000 and its 256K RAM and Kickstart 1.2.
Runner up will be the A600 due poor expandability, can't even put some fastmem in it, though I like its case size and design more than any other Amiga. I wish the A1200 looked like that. |

I think you can put fast ram in A600 via PCMCIA slot.
Anyways... I like them all, so I can't vote |

I've always thought the PCMCIA shared the same bus as the chipmem, and that any RAM there would effectively turn into slowmem.

Heh, clicked on the 'none' option.
WRT the A600; while I can see the annoyance of not having a numpad, I still love the machine for its compactness. I've labelled my floppy collection accordingly, so I know which will work in what machine and can flit between A500, A600 or A1200 depending on what mood I'm in. It's an interesting poll, though |

I can see a lot of A600 haters without a cause... I would choose cute little A600 over those outdated, large, ugly models (like A500/2000/2500) anytime, not just for esthetic reasons. It's easy to hook up to internet, install CF disk, optical drives etc. Try that on those "glorious" oldies or CDTV, it won't be hassle free as you will need dedicated pieces of hardware. Besides A600 was fun to carry, could fit in small backpack.
AFAIR there were some external cases for A600 which allowed you to use DIN keyboard. |

There are no worst Amiga models. They are all beige and awesome! They all have custom chips, noisy floppy drives and all play State Of The Art. So... next poll please!

I voted 500+ because the model confused people with its game incompatibilities and hurt Amiga sales. Many voted A600 but that machine was small and cute. It should have kept its original name A300 and cost 100 or 200 pounds. Then it would have sold a ton!

At release: A600 (shouldn't have been released at all, instead they should have released the A1200 with 1 MB chip ram option).
Today, A600 is nice as it's the smallest model and quite easy to expand. |

I also voted a600, though it was a tough call between it and the 500+.
