Cant Install latest AmiKit

Since there is a new version available, I thought its a good idea to give it a try.
But during installation win7/64 brings up an error that the side by side config is not valid. I found out that som C++ elements are missing on my system, so I istalled em. But I still get the same error message regarding the invalid side by side config.
Any suggestions?

Well, for me I use Win7/32 and I had the same problem. I had to start the installation with administrator privileges to make it install correctly.

Unfortunately, some time after I did that my old hard file didnt worked correctly anymore, probably by a virus, that VirusZ or VirusChecker doesnt detect immediately (Ebola is probably one of such things, for example).

At startup the screen freezes by one second and near 1MB is eaten from my remaining 2 MB.

But I really could not say if this is a problem of Amikit... Bad luck for me.

You can try with this http://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/sh...ad.php?t=82240

"Issue #4: Error - The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect

This is actually an issue with your Windows configuration, not Borderlands. Sometimes the WinSxS (side-by-side) database gets corrupt and can cause this. These are pretty hard to track down, even for the most experienced developer, but I'll give you a few things you can try:

I'm going to provide a few download links. Go through them in order. If given the option, select to "Repair" the installation. After each attempt, try to run the game. If it succeeds, you don't need to go any further.

No idea if it will work, but I've just fixed (off topic) a (for free) laptop adding internal Wifi (hadn't originally, but has it's place), Sound (lost sometime in the past), 8x more speed (from 256mb to 2Gb ram), unfoundable drivers.... reinstalling Os, fixing problems, etc in a couple of days... and Google and Youtube are the key for all

In his place, if the links don't work I would try to reinstall Windows 7 with the repair Install option. About antivirus I use Avast for free.

EDIT: BTW I preordered (payed) his USB stick and it seems they are sending them now. I hope to receive it, as it's THE BEST Amiga-Kit I've ever seen.

..."I thought its a good idea to give it a try..." ??? You Have to install it!
