Gary Gygax passed away

Now Dave Arneson followed him at only 61.

They should maybe inter them next to each other, for they were close friends in private.
This was also obvious for when Gygax was the CEO of Tactical Studies Rules for a short time, even Arneson came back:

While Gary Gygax was president of TSR in the mid 1980s, he and Arneson reconnected [...]

When Gygax was forced out of TSR, Arneson was removed from the company before a planned fifth module {i. e. Blackmoor DA module} could be published. Gygax and Arneson again went their separate ways.

So they did not go separate ways because they hated each other, but because the new TSR president tore apart their collaboration by firing them both and thus making their team work impossible.

My first Dungeons & Dragons style experience was via SSI games on the C64 such as Pools of Radiance & The Secret of the Silver Blades. Those games set in concrete for me the catalyst for many other RPG's on the C64 and the Amiga because i fell absolutely in love with them back then! His influence was monumental.

A very very sad loss
