Jambo! FAQs

I found a few errors in your FAQ's.

The LHA FAQ:
Quote:
Easy! Download This file (141K) and place it in your WB-C folder, no double click to run and it'll self extract, now LHA is on your Amiga!
Easy! Download lha.run (141K) and place it in your WorkBench C: folder, now double click to run and it'll self extract (Or you open up a shell window and type in lha.run and press Return/Enter to extract), now LHA is on your Amiga!

Quote:
Open up a shell and cd into the dir with the LHA files you want to extract. Now issue this command :

lha x nameoffile.lha
Should the x be an e

lha e nameoffile.lha

Edit: no error with using lha x see below.

The WinUAE FAQ:
Quote:
2) Why is Sidescrolling poor?
I had this problem, but I found a fix!

Load up WinUAE and click on the "Misc" tab. Now untick the "DirectX 6 support" box. Run your game (LucasArts adventure games in my case) and everything should run much faster.
2) Why is Sidescrolling poor In Winuae 8.8r9 or older versions?

" " show as & quot ;text here& quot ; on step 4.

Hope this helps.

I have always used x. I can't recall the difference right now and am at work with no WinUAE/WB to check, but x is the proper command.

Just looked and you can use e or x no wonder I get confused.

That’s a relief as I thought my guides had mistakes, but it works fine with e so I do not need to change them again.

Jambo a pic you could use on lha.run download page.

But for general usage, it's a good idea to get in the habit of using lha with the x, rather than the e because a great many files that are lha'd (ie, on Aminet) are archived with specific directories and without the x, your extracted archive will be worthless. I have no idea why e even exists except for the odd, fringe instance when someone specifically doesn't want the directories created.
