List of games by required memory, needed?

I am putting together a 600 with a HD for my brother as a gift. It will have 2mb. I was wondering if such a list existed or a spreadsheet with details of the resources needed to run the different games, then I can load up his HD with the games I know will work.

It could be a useful resource if games were catagorised by <1MB, <2MB, etc. If a list doesnt exist- then I guess this would be too huge an undertaking for someone, but I''d thought I'd ask.

Your best bet is to try to remember the games that you enjoyed. Then find the ones that were on a single disk. I found quite a few good ones including Kickoff2 and Speedball 2 that will hapily play on a 2mb 600 using WHDload.

Yeah, thats probably what I'll end up doing - but if such a list existed it would make life easier.

If someone could gather that info, I know a place where this could be used in the future. Quite interesting info indeed

Does a straightforward list of WHDloaded games exist full stop? This could then be ported into a spreadsheet, and with a few of us reading the readme files, collate the info. 26 people would make life easier.

You could always use the 'all installs' option on the WHDLoad site?

Also I guess memory requirements might differ depending on whether you use the Preload option or not.

aha, nice one. Was looking round it earlier but I didnt spot that - now is the preload option hit and miss, ie try and see, if it works good if not tough?

If the origianl game only needs 512 memory its got a good chance of working.
Whats considered working? constant OS flashing?

@ boo boo - yeah thats kind of what I mean, - you have to check the games requirements individually, so if you had a list of the games with the requirements you know what should work on your system, and you could download them.

nice one! its zoned.
So the only way ive found to do it is to use this list
http://www.whdload.de/games/all.html
open the info link and then pop the requirements into the spreadsheet. I have used the preload memory information, so when it is mentioned seperately, I have added it to the basic amount of memory needed.

Hope that makes sense.

before i start filliing out, some infos say :-
Game requires 512k chip mem (+300k other memory for preload option)
where you have other are you talking preload or just normal. if so alot of infos don't state it clearly. what to do ?
also games like sabre team have ecs and aga versions but only 1 name is listed in the doc.

can you say what to do in these examples

Game requires 0.2Mb chip mem (+0.1Mb other memory for preload option)

Game needs 1.0 MB Of Chipmem & 2.1MB of Fastmem (for preload option)

The installed program requires 0.5 MB ChipMem and 0.5 MB OtherMem

- 512 Kb ChipMem (+256 Kb OtherMem for the kickstart)

!!!!!! damn I only got excel 2002 and It says format not recognized ? can you save it as a different format that will be compatible, i was using softmaker but when i went to save it complained about not being proper version so it wouldnt save so i installed my excel but its an old version 2002
