Amiga custom chip versions.

Howdy, i ran WhichAmiga on the A600 with the Vampire II in it, and i got this.

ECS Denise 8373 (Rev0)
Fatter Agnus 8372A (Rev13)
Paula 8364(Rev0)
Gayle (Rev13)

i have googled, and had a look, but again, its always good asking on here, to get some real world feedback. Does this look right? When i run which Amiga with the stock A600, its says, "Your Amiga is an A500+", and when i run it with the Vampire II on it, it says, "Your Amiga is an A2000+".

Obviously, thats not right. And I have noticed in my screen modes, i dont have anything higher than 512i either, surely these are older versions? can a 2Mb Denise 8375 be popped in there? is it worth doing?

thanks.

Bad programming?

The A500+ and the B2000 never had an ECS Gayle and so it should have easily been able to detect it as A600.

The A600 has a 8375 Agnus not an 8372A. Perhaps you only have 1Mbyte chip RAM fitted and without 2Mbyte it may be impossible to tell which Agnus you have?

You mean Agnus not Denise. You already have a 2Mb 8375 as they were standard on all A600's

So it's just bad programming. Are there alternatives to "WhichAmiga"?

Try 1.3.25-beta
