ParM.library
Hey all!
I'm exploring the ParM.library but the archive in Aminet seems to be missing some files or, even, could be corrupted I cannot open the archive with WinRAR, only with LHA. But, with LHA, there are the files SCOPTIONS and ParM.c.bak but not ParM.c. Besides, ParM.c.bak includes lib/ParMBase.h, which is missing from the archive. There is also an include of proto/ParM.h file, also missing... Would anyone have the "developer" version of the ParM library or, maybe, a different version of this archive with more files? PS. Sadly, Pierre Carette, one of its authors, died in a traffic accident in 1995. I could not find how to contact Sylvain Rougier, the second author. Take care! Did a bit of digging - the archive on Aminet CD 12 appears to be the same as what's on Aminet today, so it's likely the file was corrupted before/during the original upload to Aminet in March 1996.
ParM 6.02 is dated July 1995, however. So if you can find a file library from between July 1995 and March 1996 maybe it contains an intact, non-Aminet version of the file. I've quickly checked the CDs for Fresh Fish Vol. 10, Gold Fish Vol. 3, Meeting Pearls II, and Meeting Pearls III and it's not there (although it's possible I missed it). Not sure who else might have been putting out CDs with utilities during that window... Source code for an older version is on Fish Disk 419. |

ParM_V6.02.lha seems to unzip well automatically into folder on Amiga if you have XAD libraries installed.
It also unzips well by dragging the ParM_V6.02.lha archive to WinUAE. I created a new zipper archive in The Zone: https://eab.abime.net/zone/ParM_V6.02.zip |

I think the issue the OP has was that the header files were not available.

Hi all!
Thanks for the follow-ups! Yes, unfortunately, I also found out that Pierre Carrette died in 1995 Thanks Matt_H for the link to the Fish Disk, I can't recall if I had tried this one out... but, yes, my "problem" is that the currently library comes without header files... These headers could be rebuilt from the library maybe? Take care! |

It contains the source code for an older version of ParM with headers. |

Hi Docent and Foul!
Thanks for your replies I'll check out this Fish Disk, Docent. Thanks for the libraries, Foul, but it's really the headers that I'm missing Cheers! |

Actually, that FishDisk contains the ParM source code for 4.7: includes the header file and the source for actually creating the 4.7 shared library.
