Are there any decent Amiga stores???

I did a bit of browsing to try and get a fair price for how much a Mediator or a Powerflyer would cost, and the only websites I can find that sell them want obscene amounts of money for it.
"That's fine", I thought, until I started looking at the other items these same websites had to offer.

For example, Software Hut wants $130 for a regular 20gig harddrive!!! And you can now easily pick one up for about $40.

It's the same with any other "Amiga" site I go to. The question I have is, if these companies are overcharging for "non-Amiga" items, how can I be so sure they aren't overcharging for their Amiga items?

It sems that they do, mate. They have the "advantage" of being the few Amiga stores still in operation, and I believe some blind zealotic amigans would buy from them if only to "support this cool shop that still supports Amiga".

I know only one good shop, and it's www.datakompaniet.no . They are quite decent and offer good service. At least that's how it was last time I visited (it's been a year or so)

And what about Power Computing ?

Power Computing [UK]

I ordered from them some years ago, great service ..

Datakompaniet is also good, bought lots of them ... But they are maybe a bit expensive ...

PowerC seems to have lower prices, but their selection seems somewhat limited, some items I was looking for aren't listed. And their webshop is a bit messy browsing through. But still, it's an alternative.

I havnt seen a shop in the US that doesnt bend you over and screw you with a telephone pole.

Softwarehut is too expensive for a dead platform like the amiga. I assume some people will spend $140 for a $40 part to keep these vultures operating, but I am not one of them.

I would never purchase from Softhut, the prices are indeed blown up. Ordering from any other shop in the world would be much cheaper.

This is a very good question and a very old thread. Is it even possible to add another entry 19 years later? If so, I'd like some list on active and reliable amiga stores today. I have recently good experience with amiga-shop.net and amigastore.eu. I'd like to know what more options there is. These shops are mostly out of stock if there's something particular you want. (which is often the case)

Holy $h1t, seems you revived this zombie thread.
Anyhoo, since you asked. There are a couple of different categories of Amiga stores so depends on what you mean.
There are a few with a pretty decent assortment of stuff like:
https://amigastore.eu/
https://amigaonthelake.com/
https://www.amiga-shop.net/Amiga-Hardware:::38.html

Then you have more niche oriented stores for specific hardware such as:
https://icomp.de/shop-icomp/en/shop.html (ACA Accelerators etc)
https://www.shop.apollo-computer.com/ (Vampire stuff)
http://shop.elbox.com/ (Mediator)
https://shop.mntmn.com/products/ (ZZ9000)
https://amiga68k.com/ (Lots of Plipbox related stuff, but also A3660 etc)

And then you have some shops that have Amiga stuff but also lots of other stuff for other platforms such as:
https://sordan.ie/search/?q=Amiga
http://www.ggsdata.se/

List is longer than that of course but hope it's somewhat useful.

Thanks a lot! Yes, you can definitely add icomp.de to the list. They sent me the scandoubler mk3 in 3 days! That was amazing.
I was just going to order really nice stuff from http://www.amigastore.com/, but they wanted my paypal password on an insecure site. I see they are not on your list. Is it just scam? Anyway, I will go through your list as there are more stuff I want.

EDIT: It's very likely amigastore.com is a scam! I just bought stuff from amiga68k.com and then I was at the paypal site when they wanted the password. So be warned whoever is reading this ancient thread `

I do not think AmigaKit is a scam, but to have unsecure website these day is excelllent amateurism from them.

https://www.vesalia.de/ is missing in the list.

Really? I just checked. Google returns a http address but https works. I think they need to setup a redirection or something. But I agree it's not professional.

I did probably buy from all the active stores based in Europe (and UK before Brexit) and my favorite is certainly Alinea Computer
Great customer service, always quick replies, fast shipping, good packaging and they are also very kind.
If they have what I'm looking for they are always my first choice, unfortunately sometimes they don't sell the item I'm interested in (e.g. the terriblefire 1230 I've just bought from another store).
