Question Accelerator TRA 1200 / ATurbo 1228 jumper settings

Does anyone have the jumper settings for this board?

http://amiga.resource.cx/exp/search....ra1200&company

I have just received this 68020 @ 28 accelerator in the original box but unfortunately without instructions.
It seems to have problems with the 8 MB SIMM supplied.
Amiga reports the board as defective. It works only if I close the D Jumper in JP1 but then I can't see the fast RAM and performances are near to the basic A1200. Problem is that there are 4 jumpers in JP1 and 3 in JP2.
I put another 4 MB SIMM (tested) but with same result.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I have that board too, but I just iterated the jumpers.. :-D

I currently have mine set on 4MB, A B and C are jumpered, D is open.

Can't remember what the setting was for 8MB .. perhaps B and C closed. I do remember that closing just one jumper was not enough.

Oh and good luck, mine is very unstable. It's now gathering dust on the shelf, I got so aggravated with it that I bought a Blizzard 1230 mk IV.

@Jope

Hei Jope, I have sent to you a private message just some minutes later your post here! Could you answer to it? Many Thanks.

@Jope
Thanks for your ready answer in the private section. In a future, if you like and you have nothing else to do, try to close jumper D and let me know what happens... About Blizzard IV, I have one, I know how it works and I would recommend it to every A1200 owner without 68060.

Now I will write here the TRA1200 JP1 jumpers setting. Someone could be interested.
My card does not detect the Fast RAM, but the Showconfig command shows the memory size:

A close B open = 1 MB
A open B close = 2 MB
A close B close = 4 MB
A open B open = 8 MB
C = ??? unknown
D close = probably it disables Fast RAM.

A and B jumpers have the same combinations of 2 jumpers (1-2) and (3-4) of the RCA120 memory board produced by the same manufacturer: Pyramid.

WOW. Now the card is 100% working.
A very deep, patient cleaning were the solution. Or perhaps further TO BEND the A1200 metal shield to avoid all possible contacts with the board.
However I can confirm the jumpers above:

A close B open = 1 MB
A open B close = 2 MB
A close B close = 4 MB
A open B open = 8 MB
C close / open = ??? doesn't work / ??? it works
D close / open = Fast RAM disabled / enabled

With Fast RAM enabled performances are similar to Blizzard 1220/4 and Apollo 1220.
Note: I get error to mount a 16 MB SIMM (Test=OK on Blizzard IV) and to configure it to 8 MB.

I'd have already taken a hammer to it and whacked it to little pieces. :-)

Mine is so very delicate in it's contact that if the machine is bumped, I get a crash and a yellow screen on boot.. Then I have to keep rebooting and moving the board a bit until it works again.

Totally unacceptable, but that's the top Pyramid quality I've learned to
expect over the years of seeing their products in use. :-)

Good to hear that you got it working. I still have C closed on mine, so it seems there is no possibility to make a 100% guide on how to get these to work.

I can't really recommend this board to anyone, even though it does boost the machine's speed a little when it happens to work.

I hope you were joking about the hammer...

I made a very, very patient & deep cleaning. At the moment it's a bit soon, but now it is detected at EVERY cold or soft boot and it seems to run OK without yellow or other coloured screens. Later I'll test with programs or games and I'll report here the results. North & South (WHDLoad) should be a good test.

However I would not avoid that the A1200 metal shield could be the real problem. This is a real pain and I had problems before with other boards.
It would be better to remove it, but in this A1200 (I have 2) the cradle is not present and therefore the shield is useful to keep the hard drive. As soon as I'll put inside a Compact Flash as hard drive I'll immediately remove the shield.

However, about the TRA1200, in speed is not bad and make a basic 1200 to run about 4 time faster. You could check my tests in this thread:
