How do i Get Miami to mount shared folders
Hello
i'm using MiamiDX as the TCP/IP Stack and smbfs to mount the shared folder using the shell command (run <>NIL: smbfs Workgroup=HOME user=pcguest volume=PC1HD service=//PC1/PC1HD). I understand there is away to run this command when I open MiamiDX. i dont want MiamiDx to start at startup and mount my shared folders i want to be in control of when Miami will open, but would like it to mount my shared folders when i do open it rather then me typing in the long winded command into shell Hope people understand what i'm saying i would be grateful if someone can do a step by step guide for how this can be done Thanks |

In "Events" there is option to enter a command to run when miami goes online.

i wrote script file
ECHO MountPC ECHO Scripted ECHO by RogueRaven run <>NIL: smbfs Workgroup=Home user=pcguest volume=Share1 service=//PC1/Share1 (all on sameline) ECHO Done saved as MountPC copyed the shell.info over as MountPC single click went information change default tool to c:iconx made sure the info Window=Con:0/50//130/AmigaShell/Close Stack=4096 From=S:Shell-Startup was there and saved opened Miami put it online double clicked MountPC icon the icon ran the script MountPC Scripted By Rogueraven Done however it didnt Mount the Share1 on my Amiga however if it type the command run <>NIL: Workgroup= blah blah blah type it to many times already into shell manually it will mount Share1 on my Amiga so my question is why is it missing that key command line because if it didnt miss this key command line i could config Miami to run this file like you can with Aexplorer any idea why its missing that command line |

Why didnt you just enter the command into Miami instead of creating a script which prints useless text?

Remove the <>NIL: and read the error message.
Also you need a much bigger stack than 4096. Use 40000 or 100000. Otherwise SMBFS will crash sooner or later. |

because there doesnt seem to be away to add the command to miami like you said its looks for miami file using the events thing.
and the is a clear reason why i added the useless text. now i clearly know the script was actually running. if i didnt add the uselsss text i wouldnt have know it was skipping the key command. going to remove <>NIL |

whoops forgot to say i change stack to stack=65536
ok error is not enough memory allocated sounds bout right only 303k or so left. however if i go to shell and type execute dh1:MountPC it will mount my share1 folder, weird guess will have to wait for my card to arrive. least i dont have to type of that extremely long command anymore Last edited by Rogueraven; 13 March 2008 at 12:04. |
