PC Classic Games
Yes I know, this is amiga community, but eventually all of us moved to PC or Mac. This topic should be simillar to mame tread where you suggest PC games that you think are worth checking or that have 'classic' status.
Also if game was released on Amiga, write which version you find better. Here is my start of the list: UFO - Enemy Unknown (aka X-Com) I liked amiga version of this game enough that this was first PC game that I got. I still prefer Amiga version even I did not find much difference... Total Annihilation One of most underrated PC titles. Not sure why as it looks and plays much better then any RTS of its time. ... (just like matrix - to be contued ) |

some of my personal favorites are jagged alliance which was somewhat in the vein of x-com and imperialism which was a resource management - strategy game.

First game I played on the PC was doom... which was very good especially as it was the first FPS and mutiplayer shooter I'd ever played...
Shortly after that it was a game I loved... System Shock.. superb game... In between theres been (classic wise): Little Big Adventure Series (LBA) System Shock 1 / 2 Doom / Quake Command & Conqueor And I suppose the game that I've spend literally months playing: Asherons Call - first MMOPRG I've ever played way back around 7/8 years ago and still play today... I've played / beta'd pretty much every MMORPG games since and nothing has suppased it yet.. |

Total Annhilation - "One of most underrated PC titles. Not sure why as it looks and plays much better then any RTS of its time."
Erm, you may find that it was quite OVERRATED! - I remembered it topping the PC Zone RTS list for ages at 96% ... Red alert kicked its ass and you know it (spray painting to create buildings- wtf!?) UFO : Enemy unknown was the first game I bought for my pc (even though I got a P166mmx)... best game ever for the pc too heh... bought it alongside colonization (too slow on my amiga) and some other cheap game, uh, .... cant remember but I got gobliins 2 with day of the tentacle shortly after Back to topic my favs UFO (prefered PC vers - had a hard drive!) Raptor Fuzzys world of minature golf gobliins 2 (amiga version was prolly better) Solar Winds (overtop space exploration / arcade- awesome!) Elite 2 / 3 (I played 2 on the amiga , 3 on the pc... unsure which I prefer heh) Wing commander 1 + 2 (dont mind which version) Pirates Gold! Civilization (amiga ftw!) Settlers (Amiga!!!! DEFINATELY!) Command and Conquer - best for me was Red Alert- my TC mod rocked your balls! |

Red Alert is in my opinion overrated. I disliked movie sequences and units looked not so nice as TA!
And btw it was not paint but energy/minerals that Commander was spreading. :P I rescently finished Homeworld, and this one deserves classic status. First RTS with 3D space. Great gameplay too. Warcraft II was also great at the time it came out. Same goes for DukeNukem 3D. Loved that game and was much better then any Doom game. (it was newer, which means I missed Doom games) As I had HD on my Amiga 500+, there was no problems with X-Com. |

Got to love that front cover with your and Fred's picture on it.
Outlaws by Lucas Arts came about the same time. Somethin' like Dark Froce's clone set in wild west time. Full Throttle The Dig rest of LA adventures One game that sucked on PC was Defender of the Crown. Amiga version was way better. |
