I stopped using Amigas in 1995. What games did I miss?

Have there been any interesting releases for the Amiga (OCS/ECS specifically) in the post mortem period?

If you not including 1995, then 96 onwards;

Brian Lara Cricket 96
Total Football
Chaos Engine 2 (some like, others not so much lol)
Fightin' Spirit
Mega Typhoon
Sensible World Of Soccer '96/'97
Minskies Furballs
Black Viper
Premier Manager 3 Deluxe
Wembley International Soccer (i guess the OCS version got released last)
Tiny Troops
MAX Rally
Apano Sin

most of those in 96 bar the bottom 3.

wow, im suprised nobody has mentioned THE game of `96

Kick Off 96.

With gameplay so incrdible, you just have to play it to beleive it.

Words cannot express the emotions you will feel after the first 5 mins of play

Actually, most games of the "late era" are terrible.

I enjoyed my copy, maybe because I tried to play every Amiga platform game. I can't find any bad detail.

  • Ambermoon (English version not found until 1998)
  • Street Racer (You may have played this on other formats)
  • Worms Directors Cut (if you've not played this you must!)
  • Speris Legacy - slated by some but the best Zelda clone on the Amiga

Two 3D FPS not on any other platform
  • Alien Breed 3D II - The Killing grounds
  • Genetic Species

Try HOL for all results:

Change the last number to the year of your choice for all results.

Slamtilt .... the best game on the A1200!
Swos 96/97 obviously
XP8 is good but lacks music
Blobz is a nice puzzler
Mega Typhoon is decent shooter for a quick blast
I have a soft spot for Wendetta 2175 as well but tbh it's not great

Mega Typhoon really blew me away when I first saw it. From all the games mentioned here, is one that is really worth.

All Terrain Race it's an awesome game too... Fighting Spirit and Total Football are pretty good too.

Wembely International Soccer is basically just European Champions! released again with just a few new touches which makes no difference to the gameplay at all (and I am not even sure the ECS version has those new touches). If you played European Champions (or any incarnation of it, since the game has been released under a dozen of different names), you aren't missing much by not playing Wembley International Soccer.

I thought XP8 was awful imo just boring, noticing exciting, attack patterns etc very dull!

It's been quiet some years since I played it but I remember enjoying it 2 player simultaneously with a friend at the time.

Yeah, someone recommended XP8 like "Best shmup on Amiga ever". It looks kinda nice but it plays very shitly.

Mega Typhoon is like 20000 times better.

Yeah, I was about to list a couple but they're AGA or RTG so it doesn't count. Guess he's missing out in that case!

If it's 1MB ECS compatibility you're after how about these games:

Enemy: Tempest Of Violence
Enemy 2: Missing In Action

Both can be found here

Coming right up to date:

Tanks Furry
Tales of Gorluth

Both released in the past couple of years, both ECS compatible.
