How do i install a HD?

Cables and all that are connected no problems at all.....i can hear it boot up in all....

insert a wb install disk (3.1) and run HDtoolbox....
it looks on scsi device but does not find the HD....
thing is i had this on my PC for a short while for an Amiga emulator (Amithlon) so im not sure if that could affect it...
i got IDEFix 97 no idea what to do with it tho....

Please give more details. SCSI or IDE drive ? Which Amiga model ? Built-in or 3rd-party controller ?

If IDE, did you set the master/slave jumpers correctly ?

If SCSI, did you set the SCSI-ID and termination jumpers correctly ?

If you use a controller that is not driven by scsi.device, you need to tell HDToolbox the name of the driver. Check HDToolBox's tooltypes.

3rd party IDE....dunno what type
Set as master

no idea what driver it uses tho....ive lost the friggin manual...

Try HDInstTool instead of HDToolbox. It knows several 3rd-party drivers.

You already have downloaded IDEfix, so start the program FindDevice, click on Show All Drive Types and search your HD. On the left is a list of all drivers and on the right is a list of all drives connected to the selected driver.
