X1 Oscillator & shorting?

i have a dead a500 rev6a board.

the X1 OSC has been hacked out
looks like board has been damaged

put new one in no joy

when testing continuity
it appears 3 of the pins are connected?

1 4

2 3

(looking from top of board

1,2 and 4 all appear to be ground (buzzes out continuity)

i think 4 should be 5V ?
Pin 3 in output of the 28.xxx pulse?

any advice/thoughts? am i right with the pinout? etc

shorting coming from board damage underneath?

Pins 1 & 2 are ground, Pin 4 is VCC +5V and Pin 3 is 28.x MHz Frequency.
