I have the old A2088 bridgeboard, which bought Ebay a while back.
Recently I purchased an ICOS 486 SBC and a Hicore-I6313 PIII SBC. I was going to purchase a PC backplane in order to use them. But this thread has given me food for thought. I hadn't considered using my Amiga 2000 and the possibility of adding more conn9to the ISA bus

Kind regards

Andy

It works very well, just watch your power consumption, don't try anything crazy, like P4.

Many thanks for the advice. I'm not a big advocate of recapping for the sake of it. But in this case I probably will recap my PSU before I attempt to run them in system.
I take your point on the P4.

Kind regards

Sbc

I ordered a Protech Prox-1560S and installed it in the last slot of the 4000T.

Nothing happens but the cpu fan turns if I connect a vga monitor to the cards output.

Is there a certain voltage requirement for SBCs ? anyone has experience with this ?

I wanted to install it in the A2000 but then I wanted to test it before to see if it works before I solder the 16 bit isa slots on

thanks !

Normally it should work by just plug it in. The A2000 has 2 16bit ISA slots. When Amiga is powered you should see DOS prompt on SBC's VGA screen.

I found manual for your SBS, it says:
SYSTEM POWER REQUIREMENT :
DC Voltage: +5V, minimum +4.75V, maximum +5.25V.
DC Ampere: 15A.
DC Voltage: +12V, minimum +11.4V, maximum +12.6V.
DC Ampere: 500mA.

Check power supply's 5V spec and see if you have 5V 15A.

Thank you Amiman99!

Its the standard 4000T psu, +5v at 26 amps, and 9 amps for +12v. Have only the 3.5" floppy hooked up amiga side nothing else.
I believe the a2000 psu is not stronger than the 4000t.

Any other ideas?

It should work fine.

Do you see something on VGA monitor?
Does it make any beep sounds during boot?
Do you have keyboard plugged in SBC?, can you get to BIOS?
Was the SBC sold as working?

It doesnt beep and the vga monitor (lcd) goes into sleep mode so there is no output from the card it seems. Only the cpu fan turns and briefly an led comes up near the rj45 port of the card.
I inserted two dofferent dimms, a 64 mb and a 128 mb dimm. and also let it start without memory which should lead to a no memory found message at least? I didnt plug in a keyboard. Maybe I will try this today. It was sold as new old stock and looks new.. caps look good.

I would try on A2000, and if this does not work, then it's troubleshooting time.

I noticed your SBC does not have external power, so it may be difficult to troubleshoot w/o Amiga.

I tried in an amiga 2000 which had the 16 bit isa slots soldered in and there was the same problem. I ordered an isa backplane and will hook up an atx psu to it which is stromg enough to power the latest power hungry peecees. Yes I wish it had a molex connector or so. My guess is the isa connectors dont supply enough power although the same board has worked for others. Last measure is to return it but as its new and the seller said it worked I am stuck at the moment. Next time I will want a screenshot of it live ah and i tried a ps2 keyboard no difference. Only that I can see the leds of the keyboard are not lit. Weird.

Maybe it's dead, try to clean the edge connector.
I was looking at the manual again, there is a LCD power connector which supplies 12v and 3.3/5v. See if you can see the voltage.

PANEL POWER CONNECTOR
JP10: Panel Power Connector
This connector supply proper power to LCD panel, the user should select
first the proper voltage as described in JP8.
The pin assignments are as follows:
PIN ASSIGNMENT
1 LCD VDD +12V
2 GND
3 LCD (+5V/3.3V)

JP8: Panel Voltage Selection
This jumper allows you to select the proper voltage to your LCD panel. The
jumper settings are as follows:
Panel Voltage
Selection
JUMPER SETTING
(pin closed)
JUMPER
ILLUSTRATION
VCC 3.3V 2-3
VCC 5V 1-2

Thanks for that info ! I will try it in the 3000T which should have the strongest of all 3 amigas used and also has the most space. Will check the voltage on the lcd pins. Could you direct me where you found the manual? Much appreciate your help

It didnt physically fit in the 3000T, for some reason the backpanel of the 3000T is too tight of a fit. So I ordered a spanking new ISA Backplane but the same result there. Even with a 500 Watt PC Powersupply which has 41.5 amps on 12v and 20 amps on 5V

On JP 10 pin 1 was there was 0V, 2 was GND and pin 3 was 0V. There must be some 12V as the CPU fan turns.... on the second, unused fan connector there is 12v on pin2 as expected
