I think I'd like to make a plug for purchasing an already built PSU for the Amiga. ;-)
I was online browsing recently for parts, and found a parts place that had the Amiga PSU plugs. It got me thinking about making a backup, so I ordered one. Only a few bucks. Then I thought, I better get a nice small Meanwell PSU... Ordered one, that was like $34 or so?? Then I was like... I will need some 4 conductor wire. Don't have any handy, and there aren't any electronic shops around here local. Only $15 for 5 meters. Way more than I need, but to get 1 meter I am seeing around $7 cheapest and that's with a long wait time. Now, I can 3D print a case, so there isn't any extra cost there. But I am already around the price a nice Amiga PSU would have cost me if I would have just bought one. ;-) And that doesn't come with an LCD display, that some of them have... I mean, I am going to have fun putting it together, but... Worth it? Probably not. ;-) |

Bought the stuff during the week, but just arrived yesterday and with work only got to build today:
AMD 7800X3D Asus x670e prime WiFi Pro 32GB TridentZ 6000MHz RAM WD black 2TB Nvme PCIE 4 4 port KVM AM4 bracket for my old Corsair H100i V2 AIO. I picket up an Nvidia 4070Ti a few weeks ago. Using old case, PSU, AIO, 2 SSDs and a 1 TB Nvme. Honestly it's the longest PC build I've put together, took about 6 hours, arsing around trying to take the old Intel bracket off the AIO and when the one was attached it kept popping out, grrr. All sorted now, did a 17 minute PRIME 95 blend test, 71C max and some other basic verification. Very happy, my 6 year old rig served me well. |

It appears I've bought an A1010 external floppy drive, so my email tells me. I don't even remember bidding on that.

4 issues of Amiga Format from 1997. I didn't think to check for the CDs so that will have to be another order for another day...

For the one that isn't reading disks. You can tweak the laser pot quite easily. I did this for several xboxs during the modding days. It does risk the life of laser but it'll have to be replaced either way in the end if you're still looking to use discs. The one failing to update, put update on usb if you really need to do that. After RGH it doesn't really matter lol |
