"Level progression maps" - Attempt at a collection
"Level progression maps" - for lack of a better word, this is what I call the maps you see in some games which typically depict a landscape, often with many different climate zones and styles, and where each level that will be featured in the game is seen. Sometimes, there is also an arrow or similar indicating which level will be the next one. I like these all-in-one maps, no matter if they are drawn from an overhead perspective or from the side.
Some examples I can think of right now: Toki: I wished I had a complete version. Traps 'n' Treasures: Wizkid: What a weird game Fire & Ice: Last edited by Cherno; 23 November 2015 at 15:23. |

it does! in fact it has two, the interactive one where you place the spies &c, and the one that shows where you're flying about in between places...

Thanks everybody for your help so far. There are some beautiful maps for sure, and some not so beautiful I forgot about the Robot Monsters one, that game had nice graphics. I wished someone would make a remake someday.
I still like the Fire & Ice one the most, especially if the water is animated. Such great pixel art. I hope there are more of those 2d maps. |
