Transferring adf files without workbench?
Hi, I’ve recently grabbed my Amiga out of the loft after 30 years of gathering dust! Unfortunately all my old games seem to be corrupt! I’ve been reading about getting downloaded files back on to my old disks and worked out that I need Amiga explorer and a serial to usb cable which I have just purchased.
My question is, is there a way of getting my pc connected to the Amiga without a working copy of workbench, as mine no longer works. Would really like to revisit some of the games I used to love! |

What Amiga have you got? What are the specs?
Inspect the disks for mould and physical damage - it might just need a clean. Probably easier if you just write ADF/IPF images to disk on your PC/Mac/Linux machine. I would highly recommend getting a Greaseweazle to do this. |

Another option is AmigaXfer. You will need a basic workbench unless you fancy the hardware hack.

Hi, thanks for your replies! I have an Amiga 500 with a 512 expansion. The greasweazle looks interesting is it easy to use? I have also just been reading about a gotek drive, which seems like it could work well?

Was going to suggest a Gotek
I have a GreaseWeazle too but mainly use it read disks. There are a couple of GUIs for it but the CLI is easy enough. |
